So sad to hear the news of Rick’s passing.
I loved listening to him call a game.
Condolences to his family and Sabres fans everywhere.

Nobody ever talks about the awesome pass that Pat LaFontaine dished to May that started it all. Without that sweet pass, that goal doesn't happen.

That’s why I don’t like who scored the goal, he scored 2 goals his entire Sabres career in playoffs. No credit to the 5 hall of fame players on team

I was in a bar in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the only Sabres fan in a group of Bostonians from my ship. It was one of the best, most memorable moments of my life.

Gives you chills that Brad May kissed his stick for luck. And he was pretty easy on the eyes.

Patty LaLa passing from his keister then May schooling a Hall of Famer and stretching Moog out to win it in overtime to complete the sweep and move on to the second round for the 1st time in forever with the dawning of the dominator at the other end is the most legendary goal in Sabres history and RJ embodied the emotions of every Sabres fan. Beautiful

I was at this game, in the oranges right above Andy Moog when May scored. In the concourse afterward, Sabretooth was high-fiving fans and I think I scared him a bit with my "enthusiastic" greeting. My favorite sports memory, without a doubt. I didn't hear the "May Day" call until I was in the car on the way home and they played it on the radio over and over again. So special.

This was on my dad’s 30th birthday. He’s a huge bruins fan.
So last night I asked him if he remembered. His response?
“Sprint 1993 was a sleepless blur for me & your mother”
I may have left out the part where they had just had me less than a month beforehand 😂

My favorite Rick Jeanneret call. And I didn't hear it until I saw it replayed on the news that night. Because I was at the game. Sitting just a few rows up at the blue line, just above where Brad May entered the Bruins zone. I can still see the goal from that view in my mind. I Laughed Out Loud that first time I heard the call, and it still brings a smile every time. Though today it's a smile tinged with sadness.
    RIP RJ.

That is pretty awesome that you were there. I've been to a couple big games in Sabres history (Game 6 in '99 and Malarchuk's accident) but yours tops those easily.

May Day is good, but Brett Hull’s “no goal” is the best that RJ ever did, ‘cause it’s a once in a lifetime event doing a Stanley Cup Finals call.

Brad May only scored two goals in playoffs his entire Sabres career. I don’t like it because nobody like Hawerchuk, Lafontaine, Fuhr, Mogilny get any credit for winning series. Lafontaine made the pass. They act like May won the entire series

Hasek helped out in game 4 too. He was the only reason why they played seven against Brodeur.

I love the video. But at no point do u actually have the call other than briefly at the start. Maybe find 5-10 seconds to hear “the call” that we are discussing straight.
