You need to put the grub screw in the axels with lock tight (blue lock tight) on the rustler. Also for VEE that jato is 2 speed. That little cover on the transmission with the little rubber piece controls the timing of when your car shift. Counter clock wise will make it shift earlier. You probably could beat him because he got too much power.
My jato was wheeling straight out the box. Something ain’t right it not hitting the second gear. He not letting the gear kick in you gotta hold the trigger. I haven’t heard that second gear kick in yet. It should beat that rustler.
You still need to have a little bit more blue smoke come out that exhaust Vee, which means you're running it to lean bro. Every time you hit that gas like that, you need to see some smoke(not a lot but something)🤦🤦🤦🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯

ur car sounded lean, once its up to temp then u should tune. Make sure u see a nice smoke line, easy way to tune is run it rich and do 1/8th turn leaner till ur good.Dont lean it out when you first start it. I drove my nitro in 20 degrees cold in snow with paddle tires with no issues lol
Change belted tires for street and reg dirt tires for dirt they have belt for dirt (proline) change Transmitter cheap but better dumborc ddf350 makes diff in control with Gyro traxxas remotes some ish!

It takes time for the carburetor to adjust and the engine to clear the old adjustments out of the crank shaft. Better to run rich that lean. You'll overheat the engine real quick. No smoke is no joke.

Your idle to high and your running lean you need to run little more on the rich side on newer cars more smoke the better your going to fry the motor and have to put the bee touch

Yo Vee reset the whole tune bro NBS or Go OS 11 carb yea slap a OS CarB on the 3.3 n that jato gonna run … listen tho close high end all the way in then turn 4 turns out and a half 4-1/2 out counter clockwise and the low end close all the way then dail it flush with in the middle bout 2 turns out the fine tune from that point

Yes tire glue is a thing also to remove a bad tire that's already glued use a heat gun to release glue or put in oven at 300 for ten mins
