  • I'm not a singer but I would like to use my voice in songs.
    In this video I show you how to use the Auto-Tune function of the Roland VP-9000.
    I will sample my voice, use my keyboard to play with it and sequence it into the Roland MV-8000.
    If you would like to see me creating the complete song, let me know it in the comments.
    Thanks for watching and subscribing.
    Grtzzz,
    Roger

    Once again my friend, you've shown me exactly what I've wanted to see. I have many ideas for my VP9000. This opened those doors for me creatively. Keep up the research.

      Netm8kr Hahaha! Great that it is helpful for you.
      I discovered this technique (with the hold-pedal) last week and I was flabbergasted.
      Today I discovered the internal metronome and the count-in.
      I’m starting to love this unit and I’m planning to redo my Daft Punk vocal video. More knowledge now.
      Peace!

    Love it. I just got both a VP9000 with a CF card installed and a V Synth XT. A little repetitive but that’s ok….can’t wait to try this.

    • @theMIDImaniac
      @theMIDImaniac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Great that you've installed the CF-solution for the VP.
      I miss mine although the XT and the V-Synth OG cover that Variphrase.
      But there's just 1 function the VP has and the other ones don't and that's a better control over the variphrase sample.

      @@theMIDImaniac I was lucky….I bought it that way on Reverb. I don’t have those skills! But it does make it so easy to load samples into it.

    Great videos. Very helpful. I bought one of these a couple of years ago for cheap and it's been sitting in my rack waiting to be used. I haven't got around to it yet due to lack of time. But its on my list and these videos are really useful. Thanks!

    This machine is a monster, you gave a good example of good use of it. I would never sell mine, there are lots of tricks if you actually use it as a musical instrument, but it takes time and effort to know how to get where you want, with six lines out, a mixer and a modular synth it gets to another level :)

      @theMIDImaniac  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree with you! This beauty has so much to offer when you put some serious time in it.
      I also read the manual often to discover how things work.
      Thank you so much for sharing your feelings for this piece of gear!

    ich hätte die vocals ja dann als audiospur im mv mit triggerpunkten geteilt damit bar für bar das timing korregiert wird .. ähnlich wie beim teilen .. nur nondestruktiv .. leider find ich den basslauf auch noch nicht ganz rund .. trotzdem sehr tolles video ✌so schlecht singst du gar nicht 😉theroretisch ist mein va 7 doch auch ein vp 9000 oder nicht ?

    You know in VP 770 they turned the the whole variphrase idea on its head and made it a realtime vocal performer out of the same technology.

    this was the beginning of the end of good music. Why do songs recorded over 40 yrs ago in mono on tape still outlast anything produced today ? Because good music isn't about digital processing but real voices with real instruments. Not this crap autotune and virtual stuff made with clicking a mouse on a computer software that looks like excel spreadsheet !
