OMG George is my idol and I always love the bass on this. I see you enjoy playing it, fantastic! George could write such a cool bassline. Deon Estus was in Wham! and he was such a fantastic bassist. Not sure if he continued on with George solo, but he did have an album called Spell that George co-wrote a song for called Heaven Help Me (also did the backing vocals). Thanks so much!
I was 19 that year and not all that keen on George Michael, but now many years later I listen to it in a whole different way. Especially as bass heavy as this it is a great tune, well done Neil.
On the subject of George Michael, I bought the Star People ‘97 EP back in the day and on it was a live version of ‘Everything She Wants’ which is totally incredible. Not sure who was the bass player. Frank Tontoh on drums. But the star of the show was the percussionist. Just incredible musicality.
Well Neil, that is brilliant!!! Love the baseline on this. Appreciate the music line too. How anyone can give you a thumbs down is beyond me! (Maybe they pressed the wrong one by mistake?)
Hi! Your tunig is slightly off. It's not your fault, because the track is pitched slightly higher than the regular 440 Hz for the a. You can fix this by importing the track into a DAW like Ableton or FL-Studio and pitch it down a bit. Keep up the work! Edit: Of course you can also tune up the bass a bit
Thanks for watching and commenting Fco. The song is slightly off key yes, I believe the tape may have been slowed down to give a slightly slower tempo, hence changing the tuning.
Tha't's a nice bass and nice playing

Ahhh, really weird ending!? I'm used to playing the Patrice Rushen original and this looks somewhat different. Nice playing though.
Thanks for watching and commenting Pezz. The whole track was programmed and it was a 'take' on the classic Patrice Rushen track, hence the difference.
What is your model bass?

Hey Herr,
Many thanks for watching and the input.
I did actually attempt to detune the track to 440 Hz. Not quite got it. 😉
