I just love this year. So many songs which fills me with that magical Eurovision feel. (ok, about 10) I was especially impressed by our neighbors in Norway, Estonia and Latvia. Beautiful songs and performances. And girls. The 4th place for Belgium and 5th place for Australia felt good. So did 11th for Georgia, despite the smoke machine malfunctioning. I can't for the life of me remember Russia's song but I'll never forget Polina. She seemed like such an adorable person, even after losing relatively narrowly. Had a million times more sympathy for her than I did for the bread bakers in 2012. I felt sorry for Italy, but thankfully they'll win this year. ^^ The biggest bummer for me was Spain. Still love the song, but the staging felt detached, and the TV production managed to make it even worse.
i am always happy to see that people actually loved Italy! i mean, they really are THE REAL winners! i am NEVER EVER going to be okay, jury were so unfair to put them on so low place, like are they blind, no, are they deaf??!
top songs She was sick but her performance wasn't bad at all, Her song was the most difficult to sing in the competition. She did a Great Job. The last minute was incredibly powerful.

I ould understand every single word in grande amore after 1/2 year of learning italian and nothing except the title of n'oubliez pas... after 4 years of learning french. I deally agree with your number one!

I totally agree with you on your top 3! I think Italy was the best too but I voted for Norway because I fell in love with them in the semi final and Italy was the last performance of the night. Anyways, last year was an amazing Eurovision year! Really looking forward to this year!!

I somewhat disagree with your winner. Grande Amore is indeed a beautiful song and deserved a top 10 but not a win because there were more timeless songs like Goodbye to Yesterday or Here for you. And I am not sure it would get the same ranking if sung by another country in another language. Nice to see Montenegro in your top 10 and I agree that Czech Republic, Ireland and Belarus would have deserved a qualification. Concerning my country France, I found the song sincere and beautiful despite the lack of modernity (but it would be common knowledge if modernity helped in getting points at ESC) and when it came to stage, it was way better in my opinion than Twin Twin. One wiwiblogger wrote that "N'Oubliez pas was the karma to the viewers' treatment of Anggun, Amandine and Twin Twin". Do you think somewhat the same ? I enjoy the editing of your rankings and wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

If You really liked the song '"Grande Amore" and Italy at the ESC, You should listen to the new song of Il Volo "L' amore si muove"! It's in italian but the sound and the 3 guys' voices are amazing like ESC performance. Just a difference, the new song is really pop!
Almost all of Il Volo's songs are magical. I love how they're giving a new generation an interest in opera. That opera doesnt have to be stuffy or large women in viking helmets (hey its an opera stereotype). What these three young men do are much like the Three Tenors but for a new fresh generation. I hope we hear more from Il Volo

I must say, I've finally found someone who agrees with my tastes on TH-cam. My only changes would be 1) I feel that France's song should be higher, and I feel it gets a bad rap 2) I'd place Montenegro a bit higher 3) I'd put Romania higher, as I really like how he uses the different languages 4*) I might switch 1 and 2, and I think that the only reason Italy deserves number one is that language fits perfectly. My top from 2019 (opinion only) 1. Montenegro, 10/10: Montenegro is always so underrated, 2013 was my 2nd place and it didn’t even qualify and now it doesn’t even come top 10. How can such a beautiful song not come top ten. The entry from the start to end mesmerizing and beautiful. His vocals are amazingly awesome, the staging and dancing are precious, backups dancers/singers are in SS tier, instrumental from start to end has no words to describe it and the ethnic part to it adds to the perfect Eurovision song 2. Slovenia, 10/10: Slovenia underrated as always. This is one of the best Eurovision songs ever, her vocals are so intriguing and the staging is awesome. A really nice instrumental and it’s one of the best if not the best duo we saw this decade in Eurovision in my opinion. This can’t be topped or can barely be topped 3. Georgia, 10/10: ok how tf this did not come top 10, everything is off the charts in this (my top four keeps constantly changing). Style, meaning, vocals, song, staging, performance, all absolutely astounding 4. Belgium, 10/10: he’s so young and he made his own song, lyrics and music. The staging and the song were amazing and modern and his vocals were on point 5. Italy, 10/10: this defines what a 10/10 is. I just can’t put it higher. In my opinion, it should’ve won. Yes, Italy is my #1, Norway #2 and Estonia #3. All 3 screamed "QUALITY" (and you can guess Montenegro was my #4). By the way, the most energetic song for me was Israel. Many were not qualified because they havedn't had neighbors to vote them! That's a huge problem every year.

France's song was a cheap copy of Only Teardrops, with bland writing and a generic blend overall. If it won, this year would've been Azerbaijan 2011 all over again. Belgium's song this year was the best, in my opinion.

One of my favorite years. I am a sucker for well constructed power ballads. My absolutely favorite songs are Norway, Romania, Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Greece, Montenegro, and a well deserved winner from Sweden. PS. Intereting that you said that France has the most boring ballad, as I find it remarkably similar to their ballad from 2002, which was your 2nd spot, with a matching praising comment. Now, 2002 was one of, if not the worst year of all, so even the best song there wouldn't crack top 10 in 2015, but 38th spot - really? Interesting.
My top 3 was 1. Belarus 2. Switzerland 3. Italy So in the final, I ended up calling pretty much for Italy... I'm still sad that they didn't win. (This contest was so awesome lol)
Great list! I disagree with three, though (I still respect your opinion!). Here are my two cents: (Sweden) I personally think that Måns already knew he was going to win, so he didn't bother to give a good performance. He was GREAT in Melodifestivalen, alright in the 2nd Semi Final and just...bad in the Final, where it counted the most. He had a good song, but his performance did NOT deserve first place. (Spain) In my list Edurne would've been lower. She was out of breath the entire song, which is unexcusable because she barely even moves. Which is a shame, considering how good the song is. (Serbia) Bojana was great! Her vocals are quite good, both on stage and in the studio version. Everything about her performance felt right in my opinion.

UnderRated: Armenia (beautiful Song, great vocals), Albania (She is an Amazing singer, the last minute was so powerful, Top10), Greece (Great singer and performance) Austria (Top 15), Estonia ( My Winner). OverRated: Lithuania(cheap), Cyprus(Disney song), Belarus (boring&repetitive), Malta (I didn't miss her in the Final), Slovenia (good but 7th is to high maybe 17th), Russia (So Boring, I will never understand her placing), Italy (I'm from Italy, but I think that Estonia, Norway and Belgium were better than this).
Here's what I like and dislike for this year: I dislike: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. I feel like I need to explain some of the countries. Australia: I just have a hard time caring for this song. Azerbaijan: Not my type of music. Italy: I don't like opera music at all. I feel as if they're trying too hard. Malta: I prefer the original to the revamp. The revamped version is very poor to me. Russia: Generic peace song. Sweden: Overrated. Armenia: Powerful song with 6 brilliant voices. Finland: I like how powerful it is. It's memorable. France: Staging is incredible, as is her voice. Hungary: Simple but very effective. Iceland: I know she had poor vocals, but I still like the song. Macedonia: Love it. The live version is bad, I agree. But it's a fantastic song. Moldova: Catchy with a great performance. Portugal: Puts me in a good mood.
The best ever year of eurovision
I just love this year. So many songs which fills me with that magical Eurovision feel. (ok, about 10)
I was especially impressed by our neighbors in Norway, Estonia and Latvia. Beautiful songs and performances. And girls.
The 4th place for Belgium and 5th place for Australia felt good. So did 11th for Georgia, despite the smoke machine malfunctioning.
I can't for the life of me remember Russia's song but I'll never forget Polina. She seemed like such an adorable person, even after losing relatively narrowly. Had a million times more sympathy for her than I did for the bread bakers in 2012.
I felt sorry for Italy, but thankfully they'll win this year. ^^
The biggest bummer for me was Spain. Still love the song, but the staging felt detached, and the TV production managed to make it even worse.

I somewhat disagree with your winner. Grande Amore is indeed a beautiful song and deserved a top 10 but not a win because there were more timeless songs like Goodbye to Yesterday or Here for you. And I am not sure it would get the same ranking if sung by another country in another language. Nice to see Montenegro in your top 10 and I agree that Czech Republic, Ireland and Belarus would have deserved a qualification. Concerning my country France, I found the song sincere and beautiful despite the lack of modernity (but it would be common knowledge if modernity helped in getting points at ESC) and when it came to stage, it was way better in my opinion than Twin Twin. One wiwiblogger wrote that "N'Oubliez pas was the karma to the viewers' treatment of Anggun, Amandine and Twin Twin". Do you think somewhat the same ? 2015 was such a ballad heavy year that it made me put more non-ballads or unusual ballads on the upper-hand of my top. Nonetheless I do put some high quality ballads there too. Overall, a stronger year than 2014 and I generally like it.

Doubt you're checking comments on these old videos, but I just rewatched this contest with my daughter and we were curious to see what you were liking that year. You and I have almost exactly the same songs in our top 10 (somewhat different order). The only one you have that I don't have is, funnily enough, your winner: Italy.
If You really liked the song '"Grande Amore" and Italy at the ESC, You should listen to the new song of Il Volo "L' amore si muove"! It's in italian but the sound and the 3 guys' voices are amazing like ESC performance. Just a difference, the new song is really pop!
Almost all of Il Volo's songs are magical. I love how they're giving a new generation an interest in opera. That opera doesnt have to be stuffy or large women in viking helmets (hey its an opera stereotype). What these three young men do are much like the Three Tenors but for a new fresh generation. I hope we hear more from Il Volo

My top from 2019 (opinion only)
1. Montenegro, 10/10: Montenegro is always so underrated, 2013 was my 2nd place and it didn’t even qualify and now it doesn’t even come top 10. How can such a beautiful song not come top ten. The entry from the start to end mesmerizing and beautiful. His vocals are amazingly awesome, the staging and dancing are precious, backups dancers/singers are in SS tier, instrumental from start to end has no words to describe it and the ethnic part to it adds to the perfect Eurovision song
2. Slovenia, 10/10: Slovenia underrated as always. This is one of the best Eurovision songs ever, her vocals are so intriguing and the staging is awesome. A really nice instrumental and it’s one of the best if not the best duo we saw this decade in Eurovision in my opinion. This can’t be topped or can barely be topped
3. Georgia, 10/10: ok how tf this did not come top 10, everything is off the charts in this (my top four keeps constantly changing). Style, meaning, vocals, song, staging, performance, all absolutely astounding
4. Belgium, 10/10: he’s so young and he made his own song, lyrics and music. The staging and the song were amazing and modern and his vocals were on point
5. Italy, 10/10: this defines what a 10/10 is. I just can’t put it higher. In my opinion, it should’ve won. Italy is always so robbed
6. Azerbaijan, 10/10: it’s one of the best ballads brought to Eurovision and his vocals are one of the strongest male vocals of the year. The staging is awesome and it’s an overall amazing live performance
7. Latvia, 10/10: the song is really intriguing and her vocals are really great. The staging is awesome and it got the place it deserved
8. Albania, 10/10: it’s sad she was sick when she performed because she can really sing and the song is really beautiful. Albania is always underrated
9. Sweden, 10/10: a deserved winner. A really professional performance
10. Spain, 9.5/10: I really love the song, it’s really beautiful (I’m a spainish speaker btw). Edurne really brought the performance to life and her vocals in my opinion are one of the best
11. Belarus, 9.5/10: ok this one really had to qualify. The instrumental are great, Uzari can sing and the song is really good
12. Estonia, 9.5/10: i really like everything about it, I just can’t put it higher
13. Romania, 9.5/10: it’s a charming song with a really nice message, the vocals were good and the staging was too
14. Macedonia, 9/10: i really like the song and i don’t think the staging is bad. His vocals were solid. I should’ve qualified in my opinion. The song is one of the best in my opinion hence why it’s high
15. Australia, 9/10: his vocals are really good, the song is really nice and the staging is very solid. An overall really nice entry
16. Malta, 8.5/10: it should’ve qualified, good vocals, really nice song and good staging

Yes, Italy is my #1, Norway #2 and Estonia #3. All 3 screamed "QUALITY" (and you can guess Montenegro was my #4). By the way, the most energetic song for me was Israel. Many were not qualified because they havedn't had neighbors to vote them! That's a huge problem every year.
I disagree with your comment about the Netherlands. The song can be quite annoying for some people, but it's definitely not forgettable.

One of my favorite years. I am a sucker for well constructed power ballads. My absolutely favorite songs are Norway, Romania, Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Greece, Montenegro, and a well deserved winner from Sweden.
PS. Intereting that you said that France has the most boring ballad, as I find it remarkably similar to their ballad from 2002, which was your 2nd spot, with a matching praising comment. Now, 2002 was one of, if not the worst year of all, so even the best song there wouldn't crack top 10 in 2015, but 38th spot - really? Interesting.

Great list! I disagree with three, though (I still respect your opinion!). Here are my two cents:
(Sweden) I personally think that Måns already knew he was going to win, so he didn't bother to give a good performance. He was GREAT in Melodifestivalen, alright in the 2nd Semi Final and just...bad in the Final, where it counted the most. He had a good song, but his performance did NOT deserve first place.
(Spain) In my list Edurne would've been lower. She was out of breath the entire song, which is unexcusable because she barely even moves. Which is a shame, considering how good the song is.
(Serbia) Bojana was great! Her vocals are quite good, both on stage and in the studio version. Everything about her performance felt right in my opinion.

Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain.
I have a really weird taste for this year XD. Like you said for Serbia, someone has to be the odd duck. For this year, that's me.
I feel like I need to explain some of the countries.
Australia: I just have a hard time caring for this song.
Azerbaijan: Not my type of music.
Italy: I don't like opera music at all. I feel as if they're trying too hard.
Malta: I prefer the original to the revamp. The revamped version is very poor to me.
Russia: Generic peace song.
Sweden: Overrated.
Armenia: Powerful song with 6 brilliant voices.
Finland: I like how powerful it is. It's memorable.
France: Staging is incredible, as is her voice.
Hungary: Simple but very effective.
Iceland: I know she had poor vocals, but I still like the song.
Macedonia: Love it. The live version is bad, I agree. But it's a fantastic song.
