I think you will see a renaissance of these toys only more realistic and ultra high quality once 3d printers and technology become easier to use. There are some youtubers that are already making some cool toy vehicles using software like fusion 360 or sketchfab.

The vehicle should be able to accommodate most 1:18 scale figures, but seats would need to be installed separately, due to the lack of an interior.
