It's already been lifted, has an impressive back cage, and allegedly "runs good." They're just going to have to trust the previous owner because the car doesn't have a gas tank and can't be turned over.

Whenever you look at a vehicle that doesn't run because of lack of fuel. All you have to do is give it a shot of starting fluid and see if it pops.
They knew it ran look at the before and after at 6:32 there is a fuel jug on the back they used for testing just makes for a better story lol

So the producer assumes that every viewer can identify that the axles and diff are not stock? The biggest and usually deal breaking issue with putting 35s on a XJ or MJ is drive line durability/gearing. how was this not addressed in the video at all?

I got my purple 98 running and driving jeep XJ with 110k miles(creampuff) for $3500 abt 6 months ago. Awesome vehicles that can run forever if taken care of!
That’s facts, my dad sold his limited lifted 99 xj with bumper winch roof rack and mud tires for $2500 before the market went crazy. He could get like 10k if he sold it today

Mt 87 Metric ton has the geavy rear franebandbDaba 44 rearaxle and dana 30;front. If you're running Daba 30s front and rear you're gonna break axles with anything taller than 31"tires. Those little Dana 30s just want to survive the bigger tires. I know.. I have ine. Dandahermit

The tires wheels and tube work is probably worth what you paid for it and those 4.o i6s are probably the best engine jeep and Chrysler ever made maybe even the only good engine jeep ever made i had one with 370000 miles and ran when I sold it idk why they switched to that new v6 its not as good

I just got my MT subscription little over a week ago and discovered this show. I have been watching MT TV from the beginning but the past year I have been too busy for any leisure time. This show is now one of my new favorites.
Oh ya fyi beef up the steering or the shaft from the wheel to the steering box will break mine did on the freeway after wheeling I don't know how it didn't end up in a horrible crash some how I was able to get it off the road and stopped

ironman 4x4 fab... it says it in the video... but there are a number of companies that offer the link brackets and such... it just gets expensive...

Yeah my belt does that!! I tried dishsoap!! Disappeared for a bit!! Decided to use "Vaseline!! Smeared it on the inside of the Belt...it went away

The format needs work, but too much is chopped out. But I like the direction though, if you stay away from most of the high dollar 4x4 "wheeling adventures" types and builds. The internet is full of people that already do that and record hours and hours of video. What we don't have much of is people taking someones less 'mainstream' projects and continue to finish with them, especially 4x4's. Hate to say this but higher profile shows that are similar to DED would have taken this thing and turned it into another cookie cutter crawler.
