Gosh - I'm 24 and have never worn makeup, and had been advised to avoid eyeliner pencils. It took me forever to find a tutorial on liquid liner that wasn't about how to apply winged eyeliner! Thank you!
Omg same! I am scared to apply eyeliner as I have dry eyes. Am trying now and almost all tutorials will include a winged eyeliner. I just want simple one
Does anybody else feel like the way their eyelid folds prevents the from doing eyeliner? I might do mine, it appears as though I'm going along my lash line, and it might look fine, but then I open my eyes and the line looks higher and all messed up. It's so frustrating.
I try doing to do it on the lash line not like in between but slight above but not to much enough so that it will touch the lashes just a bit. I try to do it with my eye open so I can see what I am doing. Just practice that makes it easier. Lift your brows that might help. when I use pencil that is waterproof I use it underneath the lashes .
That means you probably have hooded eyes, I have hooded too. Instead of looking down or raising your eyebrow to get "more" lid space look straight ahead and do a wing normally ignoring the crease. I have hooded eyes the struggle is real xd
Thank you! This was so helpful. I've always been afraid to try liquid eye liner and I cannot use a pencil one because it bothers my eyes. I followed your suggestions and nailed it on the first try! Thank you.
Does anyone have that problem when you apply liquid eyeliner and there's a thin strip of skin still showing above your eyelashes? I have no idea why it does it. It might be certain eye shapes or eyelashes. It doesn't happen to the girl in the video, the eyeliner is smooth all the way through and there is no skin shown above her eyelashes
Yes! XD It's so irritating! I feel like with me it's because my eyelashes are quite high up (if I do it closer to the waterline then the eyeliner gets stuck in the lashes too)! As the lashes are where the eyeliner probably should be on my eyes there's always a strip of skin.
Thank you so much for making this video. I know it might seem like common knowledge to some people but I never experimented with make up in high school I was too busy playing sport and so being able to learn like this is really great. I never would have thought of the make up remover.
I've tried it on one eye and it was okay but when I start applying it just doesn't seem to apply on a straight line I always end up smudging my eye lid. It looks so easy watching it but actually doing it is hard.
omg, I thought I am the only one whom struggling just to apply eyeliner. I was giggling too much while reading the comments >< it's sooo hilariously accurate
Ive had a little tube of liquid eye liner in my makeup bag for many years, probably 6 or 7. It was unopened still. I bought it because I wanted to try using it but was too scared too because of how difficult it is to apply. I used it today and although it was a little thick going on and I used 4 q-tips to attempt to fix it, it didn't turn out half bad. As with learning any other skill, practice makes perfect.
woww ! Im from malaysia and watched this tutorial. Now I found it was super easy to wear an eyeliner with this step that you taught. Thanks for the superb video .
I think I’ve watched this video about 21 times because I just love the eyeliner she is using 😂 I tried getting the same one but I couldn’t find it so I got a really similar one from L’Oréal. I couldn’t do my eyeliner before but this eyeliner is magic 😂
I always have a hard time applying my black or blue liquid eyeliner. I'll have to keep repeatedly playing this video until I get it. Watching it for the first time tells me what I should do & how to do it but it takes a lot of practice. Hopefully I can master it some day. I also add at the corners of my eyes a thin curl wing(like a cat look). Thanks for this video, it taught me how to apply the liner at the corner of the eye first making a thin line then thicker from the middle to the end. Wow! We learn something new every day. Now on to look for video on how to apply eye brow pencil on my brows. I have uneven eyebrow that I have a niece who does perfect makeup(she could be in cosmetology) but she she does mine, she gets very frustrated & gives up. I think I'll look into getting my brows tatoo so that it'll stay permanent for years but I bet'cha the person who will do this might give up just like my poor niece who couldn't do it for me. I'm sad! 😞
You made something that's kicked my ass for 10 years look easy. I'll try it, and still fail, because one of my eyes flat out doesn't work so I can't see what I'm doing when it's time to line the other one :T
Question, does anyone know how many decades I have to watch these videos for before I can adequately do winged eyeliner? Or does it go by how many hundreds of videos I've watched? Thanks!
I’m no make-up expert (or even close), but I heard that dragging out the skin next to your eyes while doing your eyeliner can speed up the aging process because the skin around the area is very sensitive.
I'm only turning 15 next week but I bought some liquid eyeliner just to try it out... Not going to make a habit of it just yet, but when it comes to the time when I do decide to wear eyeliner more frequently, at least I won't be going into it blind, haha. Thank you for this video!
I actually don’t recommend tugging your eye or keeping it closed if you’re new to liquid liner. This next part may not make sense but you have to get used to your eye shape to get the hang of doing your eyeliner over it. Otherwise it’ll smear on your eye or become way too thick (if you’re not going for that look)
You have to stay calm and collected when you do eyeliner.... it can sense your fear 😂
Truth.

TsukiNaito1 it sounds like you have hooded eyes
try not using the point, but use the sides of the brush. it will give you a more flat and downwards line

I apply eyeliner on my top waterline, and I try and color it as much as I can inbetween my lashes.
Yes! XD It's so irritating! I feel like with me it's because my eyelashes are quite high up (if I do it closer to the waterline then the eyeliner gets stuck in the lashes too)! As the lashes are where the eyeliner probably should be on my eyes there's always a strip of skin.
