Okay longplaying this was HARD. It's a fun game, but it gets really difficult and trying to record it properly is not easy!! But I'm very happy about the outcome. Need for Speed Most Wanted is like Hot Pursuit 2 and the Underground series combined. Cool customizable cars, nitro and police chases with a storyline as the finishin touch. A lot of reviews online say this is one of the best NFS games and I can certainly see why. The story is simple. You lose a race and have to trade your car in, but you want your car back, so you have to climb the ranks all over to defeat Razor who took your car. There's a total of 15 blacklist member, and before battling each member you have to complete a set amount of races and "milestones". Unlike NFSU2, you can actually select the race events and milestone events from a menu this time. The major complaint with NFSU2 was that half the game's length is spent driving around town to get to race events. Big improvement. That's what sequels are for, right? Having played almost every NFS game for the GameCube so far, I see these games getting better each time and I really like it. The first Underground game is still my favourite for it's simplicity, but that's not what this comment is about. A few cameras each race and the highest mph total wins. There's two new race events. Besides sprint, circuit and drag, there's now also tollgate and speedlimit events. The drifting events have been removed. Drag is heavily improved as you can now just hold the speed button down while the race is being started without having to worry about going overdrive in the first shift as there's a few seconds before you get to do your first shifts (I hope that explains it, otherwise check out a drag race). Tollgate races are done by yourself, it's basically like the Time Trial races but there's checkpoints inbetween so if your performance sucks, you'll get kicked out after the first checkpoint rather than having to race till the end. The speedlimits event are about hitting the highest mph at every speedcamera spot on the map. It's essentially a sprint race, but you gotta make sure to max out your mph everytime you pass a camera. Also, rubberbanding is back, but it seems to be a more complex way of rubberbanding now. In NFSU, if you drove fast, the CPU's would drive fast too. In NFSU2 they seemed to try to fix this as it made some NFSU races TOO difficult, but they ended up making the game way too easy (imo). What they seem to have done with this version is that the enemy's difficulty isn't based on the race itself, but on your amount of wins/losses. There's many times where the CPU was too difficult and after losing the race once, it became easier. This is a REALLY nice tool, except for those who like the idea of being really good and beating the game without failing. You're gonna be in for a tough one. Nonetheless, even if you are bad and you might be able to win the race events just through lowering the CPU's difficulty by losing a few times, you're gonna still have trouble with the milestone events. I actually hate these as they made this game very difficult to record. The milestone events start off as easy such as "Hit 4 police cars" or "Destroy 20K worth of property" but later on it turns into "Be in a 13 minute police chase" or "Evade 8 spike traps". It sounds easier than it is, because even if you manage to complete those milestones, you still have to actually avoid the police and get to a safezone. Goodluck with that because a 13 minute police chase is going to put you in the highest emergency level and there'll be police SUV's, helicopters, spike traps, barricades and a lot more trying to stop you. Perhaps the worst are the spike traps, as they only appear on the highest emergency level. If you get caught, you're back to the first emergency level, so you're gonna have to drive around for ten minutes or so just to get the spike traps to spawn again. You wanted to know why recording this was frustrating? There's your reason. As a casual player, you can do these milestones one by one or even skip a few as not all are necessary to take on the blacklist racer. But for the courtesy of the video, I had to do all milestones in the same police chase without getting caught. It ain't fun racing around for 13 minutes and an extra 8 minutes trying to avoid police only to then crash into a barricade and get stuck and start back at the lowest emergency level. Overall, I can see why people like this game in the NFS series. It's arguably one of the best and it's certainly worth a try. Just don't do *all* of the milestones, just do the minimum required and take out those blacklist members. Oh and I changed all the Blacklist cutscenes with the scenes from the PS2 Black Edition as they're slightly longer. Game is the same tho, just missing a few extra Black Edition races. Nothing worthwhile.
I was disappointed that you didn’t use any of your “Junkman” upgrades, you could have had a whole Junkman car with all the Unique upgrades you had stocked up.
