30k+ for a 2017 F150P with 75k miles? RIDICULOUS!
Also, that Jeep was under water during a flood.
In 2017 that f150 cost $41,000. So with it being 7 years old with 75,000mi , 70% of the life is gone. So It should cost $12,300 or 30% of its original cost.
@@YOUneedJESUS1facts!
@@YOUneedJESUS1 7 years at 75k on the dash is considered low Miles on a truck and not 70% of its life.. thats about 10k miles a year and the average person drives 15k+ miles a year.. lowest that truck would be is about $22.5k in a normal market
I know right… these dealers are dumb
I was at Ford dealership yesterday and they had a Raptor listed for $126,000.00. What fool would make that purchase?
The owner probably has that set aside so he can take it home when the dealership closes up for good.
Some joker on his way to the lot later in the day.
Sucker born every minute....
The dumb fool they want lol.

There is 100K pounds of drugs coming in to the country every month, Bitcoin changes by $5K /day sometimes, every day thousand of people get scammed on internet or phone for tend of thousands. All that easy money needs to go somewhere.
I've been told wood in your car is luxury, but dang.
On another note: 21k for a truck with 150k miles? Thats insane.
Depends on the wood used :)
Absolutely. Back in the day; a vehicle with 100k miles on it was considered done for. Hard sell with no value.
Real wood too! Just add a little Watco, and watch out for the envy…
@@Boodieman72😂😂😂😂
The wood needs to be sanded, painted, and polished to be luxury, not raw blocks with dents and splinters
Define "dumping them"? Still more expensive than what I'm willing to pay.
My thoughts exactly. At this rate I'll just keep fixing my vehicles and moving on to the next one when the primary one isn't fixable anymore.
And many of these vehicles probably have chronic unsolvable or hidden problems.
he keeps making the same videos with the same titles
Yeah and a broke bum would say they're overpriced too.
@@hochhaulyour comment makes no sense
30k for a truck with 70k? I must be broke or have no idea what stuff costs these days.
trade on something like that is sub 20K, not sure how they are selling this unless they want for personal
It's UNHINGED. Just say no.
In New England I’ve been looking at 4 2017 Black F-150’s with the Limited package 110-130K for miles. Dealers want $25-32K
i think that's a pretty good price
Just wait until the bottom drops out, then you could pick one up for cheap...the same thing will happen to the housing market. Its going to get nasty.
Those trucks sold for more at auction than I would pay retail.
I wondered who in the world would pay $21K for a truck with 150K miles on it, but then, apparently, the answer was "dealers."
Yeah ,and this particular channel and several others have been tooting a car market crash coming starting "tomorrow" for well over a year now,so combine that with these high prices at a car auction of all places and I don't know what to think.
Pick up’s aren’t worth the price anymore.
They certainly aren't work truck priced anymore!
I guarantee you they will. EPA emissions regulations are going to make half-tons in worthless by 2035 and any truck with a decent powertrain today will be gold by then. Similar to how pre-2022 Toyota Tundras are wroth more than lower mileage 2022+ Tundras because the new Tundra is unreliable junk.
The result of emasculated white collar yuppie dads buying trucks in a failed attempt to restore their lost manliness. Gotta have 35" tires to go to Kroger and pick up cat litter I guess.
I am so happy I don't have a car payment.
Happy I don’t need a car .
Have you seen the insurance rates these days , it’s like a car payment 😢
I remember when the local Ford dealer was trying to dump Base F150s back in 2009. They were around being advertised at $10K. If they get back to there again, I'd buy new.
My friend bought one of those for 12k in 2010, still drives it today
@@flyingkaratechop I wish I would have bought one myself!
I remember when I started working the oilfields at 18 I wanted a Cummins. The tradesmen trims would start at 35k and you could get deals at the end of summer for 30k or so. After 2019 I started driving Subarus and stayed away from price gauging trucks lmao. (98 Forester, one owner 5-speed. It’s a lifted beast.)
Who wouldn’t guess what your not buying New. First comment 🤦🏻♂️
I looked up wages from the 90s
If you made 100k in the 90s that's equivalent to 240k today.
Having this idea of 10k for a new truck isn't going to happen.
Brandon you’ve encouraged me to get a dealer license just to pay a fair price on my next car
It doesn’t save you any money unless you’re going to be a dealer. You have to put up a bond, get insurance and pay fees and it ain’t cheap.
@@MagMan4x4 That is for a "retail" license. You can get a "wholesale" license and not have to pay all that extra. You have to have an "office" for retail, but for wholesale, you don't need an office. You can buy a car at the auction, but you can't sell it to retail customers so you end up having to sell it back at the auction.... Do you end up paying less? Probably not once your 3 year old deal goes back to the auction.
Lmfao
@@MagMan4x4 beats dealer markup. Govdeals is probably the most accurate pricing I see. Only reason to charge higher for used is 1 owner, no damage, under 75k miles cars

Still runs great and has a 4 speed manual transmission that will likely last forever and two days. @@dirtcurt1 I'd much rather have that than rust, wana trade!
As a former auto video tech from the rust belt I have 2 answers for you. 1) the lifted BMW seat was for a shorter than normal person (I believe I seen another comment mention this). When you see this you should also check out the pedals, because they probably jury rigged them too. 2) southern vehicles are not always undercoating the same as vehicles for colder climates. My guess would be the jeep was probably a southern destination vehicle and the owners took it north in the wintertime. The sand and salt on the road would have build up more by the rear bumper. It probably wasn't washed off right away. I seen this on a few vehicles at the body shop and all had this same scenario
Who travels north in the winter time??? NOBODY. That Jeep started live in the rust belt or NE area and migrated to the Carolinas.
I still think cars are too expensive specially used cars. I would never give anybody that much money for those vehicles.
50 grand for a truck that’s crazy
My working-class Uncle always had a truck to get to the work sites. He likes to say that a working-class guy could afford a truck back then.
or... is it so crazy it might just work..... no your right it's just crazy
Thanks for showing the auctions. All the dealerships I've seen are overflowing with trucks, cars and suvs that NOBODY wants.
Actually I 'want' one of those new trucks and cars. "Need" actually, but I'm still not looking to buy one anytime soon.
It has a hitch on the jeep , it backed into salt water to launch their fishing boat .

Never contemplated buying a car with just a solid frame 2-5k.... Then throwing in a new engine, tranny, and whatever. Still cheaper than a used truck for 15-25k with 100-200k miles.... Never thought I could say that.
I’m done with buying trucks for the foreseeable future. Keeping what I have if not just for the utilitarian use of it. It is a truck, above all.
Yep run along with your car little boy
That might work in the states but in Canada even doing your self your looking at about 30 to 40 k for new motor and transmission

Don’t listen to the hater’s, the auction videos are your bread and butter keep um coming. The f150 was great to see
Don't listen to the hater is?
That F-150 had frame rust covered up by somebody. F-150 frames are e-coated and not glossy like that. The receiver hitch was rusty and the frame looked the same before someone rattle canned it.
The Jeep rust on the back end is from launching/recovering water craft in salt water most likely Jet Skis
Why would you have to go that deep?? To get water to the tailgate, the trailer would have long since disappeared

Someone knocked off my driver side electric mirror when I was in the Marines. I showed one of my buddies and he fixed it with a piece of wood. The mirror worked in 3 directions. Traded it in for a new car years later. I'm sure someone was surprised when they bought it at auction.
they beat up the back with a trailer. probably didn't know how to back it up.
Maybe the driver was too short to see the rear, so after they rammed the trailer into the back, they decided to elevate the seat with wooden blocks to see better??
😁
I agree. Also, an suv with trailer hitch means that thing has some miles from towing and the transmission probably gonna be nearly shot.

FYI...dealers are not responsible for fleet orders. They only act as a depot. They have to PDI them and that's it. No cleaning, no gas. Fleet orders are made through a fleet department at the manufacturer.
Are you sure? Thought manufacturers didn't sell any cars? Thought dealers had fleet salesman?
Maybe huge orders for rental companies have some more inside method. But thought manufactures didn't do anything?
Plus all sizes of fleet and to a manufacturer say even a thousand a year would most likely just leave the headaches to a dealer.
@erich5265 Yes. Dealers are retailers. They can't sell fleet number vehicles low enough. For example, when Best Buy put their Geek Squad in Beetles, that was handled at corporate levels. Those vehicles would arrive at dealers but they were only paid to PDI them. They didn't count as any sale.
I really appreciate what you are doing. Makes me feel like I can get a handle on what is happening in the auto world. Thank you.
Prices may be coming down but some people are just plain stupid, 22k for a 6 year old Toyota with 150,000 miles UFB, will be a used lot listed at 29995 or maybe more and yes the economy is going down, orders are dropping, volumes are dropping inflation is still raging and interest rates are not going down it’s a complete scat show
Done ia an understatement for the auto industry.
This is a huge indicator that the economy is contracting.
The Jeep that has Crusty paint with rust on the panels, when body work was done the body shop tech most likley sanded the rust resistant coating probably a zink or the like coating off of the panels during the body work before primer and painting. If you check the carfax there was most likely a accident on the Vin.
Maybe we, the people, are just sick of car dealers ÷ucking us
You can't be screwed by an auto dealer if you don't buy from an auto dealer.
Pretty sure that's the answer
Would love to see you interview a floor plan company
New Dodge dealership just opened down the road from me😂😂😂😂
Their lot is full and nobody's visiting them .🎉
Another way to lose money...
Talk about bad timing. 😂🤣
No commerce driven entity would open a Stellantis dealership of any kind now. Clearly whoever opened this dealership has a motive that does not include selling automobiles for a profit. Someone “earned” a windfall long before any money was exchanged in this dealership’s finance department. From the top down anything associated with Stellantis is not about selling automobiles in North America. Buyer beware!

I have lot's of extra cash, but I'm not buying overpriced vehicles. I'm fixing my stuff when it needs new. It's not the economy that's the problem. It's the thieves running the big 3..Screw em let them eat cake. And if Uncle Sam bails them out this time I'm going to leave this country.
They're already getting bailed out with EV subsidies on hybrids (i.e. ICE cars with small batteries).
pack ur bags, the big 3 are in business thru bailouts. They make great trucks that put you in debt and will be in the junk yard by the time they are paid off
@davetruth_ have you looked at the all mighty Toyota’s prices lately? They have gotten greedy also, Look at what a Tacoma and tundra is running nowadays.

Uncle Sam can't bail them out this time. Bidenomics has pretty much sealed the deal there.
@3:34 - My tiny wife is 4' 10 inches tall and is over here saying "Why didn't I think of that?"
That 4Runner went for exactly the KBB trade-in value for that vehicle, which means the "dealer" is going to have to find a sucker to buy that thing well above trade-in value. I know a sucker is born every minute but I think people are starting to wake up, especially in this disastrous economy.
Yea tRump scewed it all up. Biden needs 4 more years to finish and save Democracy.
local stallantis dealer near me has half their parking lot empty, all the trucks are gone. Never seen this before. I was in shock to see that empty parking lot. Had to have gone to auction cause people are not buying that many at once. Saw the salesman driving around a new jeep with the price written on the front windshield at the gas station, guy got out and was struting around admiring it in front of everyone, advertising.
That jeep with the corrosion could be from someone who could have been a diver and used to throw his gear after diving in the rear soaking wet. Thought I saw a diver emblem inside.
I think the situation in the economy is self inflicted by corporations raising prices for too high. Add all the extra costs on vehicles makes these more expensive than people are willing to pay even if they have the money
That’s something Red Green, would do.
Not enough Duct tape.😂😂🤣🤣
Funny, I love that show..
hey, want to say thanks. Been watching some of your tubes, as I am shopping for a second vehicle. But, I did sell my 94 Xl Ranger 'high mileage', all manual for asking to the first looker. I priced no-nonsense, was honest about downsides, pushed the upsides.
they added the wooden blocks to raise the seat higher. that is probably for a very short woman, I am guessing. not a repair. I have seen this on cars for very short people, who need to sit up higher.
Use you from that. It's when moisture sits there or salt sits there and it builds up basically and doesn't get rinsed off and build up a dirt over time
2:45 A BMW with a trailer hitch? And the seats boosted with 4x4s? Expected in Alabama but not in NC...
That’s a stupid assed comment. I live in AL and I wouldn’t touch that vehicle. Since it’s a BMW, I’m sure someone from Cary would buy it.
I had 2x4 holding the back of the front seat from falling back on a $80 ford coupe. When your car craps out between LA and Vegas you can't be choosey.
"Looks like it's lifted" 🤣
That truck is higher than a third floor
Used to sell new cars well in the past. I can tell you exactly what the BMW x5 mods and and damage is. the blocks are there because some one vertically either to tall or to short.
Sense you basically sit on the floor. in a X5 a taller person needed extra height because the seat doesn't go high enough. Or a short person couldn't see over the dash. Seat would go far enough forward but not high enough. Now the damage to the back is from a bicycle rack mounted to the hitch.
35k for a used truck lol!
In California the new law says that if you buy a pick-up, it is now classified as a commercial vehicle. That license is way too expensive for people. So in dealers lots here in California, they are just sitting.
I believe that law has been in place in California for a while. Even their license plate format is different compared to regular passenger vehicles.
The economy is going gangbusters in the segments the government measures... Corporate profits, stock market, low unemployment, inflation is decreasing. It's doing horrible for small businesses and the average working person.
My guess on the rust on the back right corner of the Jeep is that somebody was slamming that door shut which possibly cracked the paint and that was the beginning of the problem
“If the economy is getting worse …”
Come on man, the economy is 💩
Not really. Economy is booming. The housing market is bad, the interest rates are sky high. You can thank daddy Trump for that. Giving away a few trillion in tax welfare to the top 10% on day one of his presidency caused Greedflation! Somebody has to pay for it, and it aint gonna be the rich!
Lol. Right? I was going to say the same thing. If there's any doubt in anybody's mind that we are all on the highway to hell, you need to open your eyes.
You should really check your facts.
Yeah, well...I don't feel this video proves it.
Bidenomics.
Hi Brandon. I've watched a few of your videos lately and seen you on Michael Bordenaro recently. Maybe you're getting tired of making these videos but they are fascinating to watch. I like your style and commentary about the broader economy. Feels like you should keep going and milk this while you can.
Thank you for saying that!
Short person wanted 3.5 lift on seat
Exactly. It's not rocket science.
Then you can't reach the pedals
By heart I’ve always been a truck guy. But they went out of my price range years ago. Probably 2005 was the last time I owed a Tacoma. I was close to getting an f150 in 2020 but with the limited inventory the only one’s available were very high end ones, I wanted a xlt trim. So I bought a top level trim ford escape. Now I’ve invested so much money into mods I don’t think I’ll get rid of it
I can ship a whole bunch of cars to you from south Florida. They will be dry by the time they get there. Good deal. I'll give it to you without any market adjustments.
Lol
Dumping?? Where?? They have their people out there bidding on the cars to get the price up...worse than lawyers...Sharks!!!
I see a lot of people commenting that it was a short person on that bmw spacing. My theory is that they had an aftermarket subwoofer under the seat and they spaced it to fit it. Common when people dont want to pay to have custom bracket spacers made.

Great job. Loved the video. Next time could you show us the cars you bought and when you’re talking about trucks, can you tell us if the truck is a 4X4. Again really good job thank you.
Bought my 2012 Chevy Silverado new. I paid $41,000 for it. Took it straight to Ziebart and had a spray in liner, molded mud flaps, hood protector, undercoated and rust protection. That cost me another $2,000. I take it back each year and they wash it, wax it, detail it inside (leather and carpet protection), touch up the undercoating and spray body panels with rust protection. It cost me $202.00 every year for this maintenance service. Truck is completely rust free and looks brand new inside and out. The truck has 130,000 miles on it. I did have to put a Jasper transmission in it last year. I plan on keeping it for another 10 years even if I have to put money into it every year I will because I can’t justify spending $80,000 to $120,000 on a new truck. I also strongly recommend to everyone I know that if you do buy a new vehicle to take it to Ziebart and have it sprayed for rust protection and undercoated. It works.
Taking care of a car the way you do is fantastic.
Ive seen short people carry a phone book and sit on the book so they can see ovr the hood. Actually looks like okay labor. If a tall person buys it, it has to come out? If a short driver buys it, leave it alone?

How is it even legal to sell that BMW with the wood seat mount? I would think the auction house would deny it for safety reasons. That car is going to get someone killed.
I wholeheartedly agreed! It's not the business policy of these auctions to enforce such regulations. For example, I'm sure there are vehicles that need catalytic converters. Auctions are not for the novice. I've been in the car business for 20 years
Must not know much that wood was properly bolted in place and perfectly safe. Same wood used to support houses I'm confident it would hold a person in place. I personally know of a company that uses fleet vehicles that placed an order for 75 vans that canceled the order because Mercedes offered them same price on better quality vans than Ram did. So there might be a different back story than business is slowing down. It's still stupid, when I paid $32,000 in 2019 for a Z-71 colorado. The same thing is $45,000 now! Let them dump.
Mid size truck market is burning to the ground and they deserve every bit of it. They were never meant to be $50K luxury vehicles but yet here we are looking at “deals” of 20-30% off at $35-50K. They can get bent. I’m offering dealers >40% off on gladiators right now and I’ll walk or drive an absolute beater until they read the tea leaves and take my bailout because in a few months my offer drops even lower and many are in the same state of mind. Lower or not many people are buying anytime soon.
In 2017 I paid $27K for an F150 with zero miles. This one is way over that used and beat up. But there's no inflation.
