There are parts of AEW that are right up his street, usually Cody's segments, but, given it is a buffet presentation of all kinds of wrestling they present, he ultimately comes across as quite narrow minded, e.g. Omega and the Bucks are undeniably some of the greatest performers in the business, but he always talking about them like they're amateurs.
And the great comeback to anything Cornette about how wrestling works today is this, "If you know so much about what draws money and what doesn't, why did Smoky Mountain go out of business?" Some of his takes are correct in that AEW and WWE can do something better or not at all, but this idea that he is right is just Cornette marks getting hard for his rants.

When Matt left WWE, it was under the idea that he was being constrained creatively and still wanted to wrestle here and there even as he’s gotten older and that was what Vince had in mind. Here's why AEW guys get more offended by what Cornette says than WWE guys: AEW guys have a lot more "creative freedom", so they get to do all the dumb ideas that pop into their heads and THEY think that they're geniuses. And, at least at first, she herself admitted she hadn't listened to it. Yet for all the comments (her's and people replying to her) you'd have thought Jim and Brian spent a segment ragging on her as opposed to reality: she was mentioned like twice in an email someone sent in to the show. For someone who likes to be outspoken and to present herself like she's tough she sure is easily offended for no reason and likes to break out the victim card.

Matt Hardy hasnt been Matt Hardy since The Hardy Boyz days! It all started to go downhill around the early 2000s when he did the V.1 character, and he hasnt found himself yet. I think at best he shouldve stuck with the V.1 version of himself but changed the name. He shouldve been another high flying compliment to Jeffs singles run but instead, basically became this day in ages V.2 of Marty Janetty. I know its too late for me to take another character he does seriously anymore, even when hes doin his best to be himself now....finally....again...i think🤔🤣. When Matt left WWE, it was under the idea that he was being constrained creatively and still wanted to wrestle here and there even as he’s gotten older and that was what Vince had in mind. Hate to agree with Vince on this but after getting knocked unconscious and allowed to do this kind of crap-seems like it a wise business decision on Vince’s part. Between Matt and Jeff they’ve had lengthy successful careers but it seems like Matt’s career whims haven’t really done so well for AEW either.
A lot of guys have left WWE for AEW and showed that they were actually being booked to their strengths contrary to popular belief and are now being exposed lol

Broken Matt Hardy is one of the most ridiculous things ever to be done in pro wrestling.
They were probably more offended that JC flashforward most of the match.
Here's why AEW guys get more offended by what Cornette says than WWE guys:
AEW guys have a lot more "creative freedom", so they get to do all the dumb ideas that pop into their heads and THEY think that they're geniuses. They go out there and do something, and it bombs, and they're personally offended by the criticism.
WWE doesn't give a shit. They've never cared about criticism from anyone and they've minded their own business - and they've been in business for almost 40 years. AEW needs to grow up and pull the leash on their talent.
The wwe has been around for a lot longer than 40 years. Its been around since the early 1950's. It started out as Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) then it became the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) then they dropped "Wide" and it became the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and finally after losing a lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund it changed it's name to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

I think part of the problem with matt is he hasn't gotten to the level he wished he would. I believe this is why he does what he does now if he cant be the top guy in a major organization he's happy to be a top guy in nothing.
