I just watched your video on Ch. 5 before this, and with that I see where he is going. Is it that animals / machines do not have IT? But we know that animals can make choices based on their instincts by evaluating the environment, right? How do we differentiate that will from ours, which is guided by knowledge which could be thought as a different form of environment (since we choose to act upon that particular knowledge which was given to us from our environment)

It could be Descartes is wrong. Or it could be that machines can respond in more complex ways than we thought
