I too was surprised at first with the length of the song and I was expecting a bridge but as I listened to it more, I think the length was just perfect and it plays to the theme of "giving you just a bit and leaving you wanting more". This song is quite addictive. I like that Solar not only experiments with genre but also with the song structure. The intro was soft and totally different from the rest of the song (probably a misdirection or in line with the album's theme, representative of what she is perceived as then the beat changes as she takes of the mask), the instrumentation was minimal in the verse part, an extended RnB prechorus, a 3-part chorus that starts with an anti-drop then an explosion of energy with fast lyrics delivery then a catchy chorus accompanied by sax synths that sound like bees buzzing not to mention there are a lot of instrumental changes albeit rather subtly throughout the rest of the song. I just find it very interesting. The MV is a visual feast that deserves an entire discourse in itself.

The white mask in the beginning, when she splits it in two, making a V shape, references the Korean beauty Standard in which a V shape face is the most beautiful feature, yet hers isn't, hence why she asks " am I attractive?" And then says that of course she is. This is, in a way, some social critique towards the Korean standards of beauty
We see many different colors being used , reflecting different aspects/sides of her personality, I could be wrong but, what I get from this is, that it's her way of saying " hey I'm not only a belting vocalist" " I'm not this one facet idol you think I am ".
Yellow being her youthful/playful side.
Red being her seductive side.
Green being her "grounded" down to earth side.
Pink representing the "Glamorous" performer side ( with the sparkles and all )
The News Paper thing could be either the "modelesque" side, but I would lean more it being a representation of her fierce side, the no-half-assing things side of her, it's either black or white and the way her hair is cropped with the red lipstick being the only color accent, enforced that strict/fierce image.
The All white being the representation of the perception people have from her. This is later enforced when she starts breaking the stuff and thus "revealing" her "true colors" (paint coming out )
The red crop t-shirt line references her solo debut Spit it out. That Winnie the Pooh reference with the "My friend Piglet" line , chef's kiss 🤣
So basically this song and MV is Solar saying " yeah I'm all that which you think of me, but I am also so much more than that"

I was also surprised at the length of the song, but when I listened to it twice, I feel like it was just nice especially since the length of the prechorus to chorus was already lengthy so if they added more, the song will totally be longer for sure. But i really liked it. Im also glad you also enjoyed it.

I actually like the song structure of HONEY a lot which builds up and carries the momentum very well. The length is also perfect. There is no boring part at all. It looks short but hearing experience is so full with so many details packed into this short period of time. I enjoy the beats so much and thirst to have a bit more but actually feel it ends at right time as it fits the concept of hard to get, meaning one has to listen again and again to catch that addictive vibe. It is so addictive and I have been listening to this song since it released but I still feel excited and refreshing every time I heard it. I really doubt adding a longer bridge will make it better. It might make the song lose its nicely built momentum or make the audiences tired. So, I kind of disagree a bridge for twist is necessary. Actually, the rap part is already a nice twist. The only remedy to solve the puzzle about wanting more for those catchy melody is to listen it more and I love to do it. BTW,. the whole album is so good. One should check the other songs and listen entire album in order. They are all bops. Anyway, thanks for sharing your reaction.
