"Doesn't smell like anything in particular."
While I can't put a name to what exactly I'm smelling, it's a very distinct smell. It's also strong, so you'll be smelling it in your hair all day. Good if you like it (I love it), not so great if you don't. Good news is all the Moraccanoil products have the same distinct scent, so if you walk into any salon that sells Moraccanoil products, you can smell it yourself before you decide.
But yeah, I agree with you, Robin. Great clay all around. Out of all the clays out there, this one delivers in pretty much all categories.

So I bought this product after seeing your recommendation and review for it. You say there is no tug or pull when applying and that it feels good but I must say I am having the complete opposite experience. No matter how much product I use or how long I emulsify, or how damp my hair is, the result is the same. It feels like I'm ripping my hair out to the point of stopping application. It's pretty painful.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is anyone else having this issue? I have thick wavy hair, medium length for reference.

Do you have any insight on the VA/VP Copolymer ingredient? I've been seeing it in a lot of products more recently, like Oasis Clay, Forte Series, Clutch, even the White Whale prestyler.

It is polymer...which is used to give hair strong hold,

Templeton tonics Oasis Clay doesn't have any of that. That's one of the cleanest products on the market, and literally, the best clay on the market

Seriously anyone who likes this including you Robin should try the Arcadian Matte Paste. It's so much better than their Clay(like 20×'s better) with great hold as well. It even has more clay in the ingredients and it gives you a fantastic texture. Depending on how much you use you can get a very similar to look Moroccanoil texture clay or this kind of messy very very textured yet at the same time polished look. Layering is key. Also just a note for people with fine hair, once you blow dry your hair and put the product in let the products sit for like 5 minutes. Then come back and add more or style as wanted. Once the product sets into your hair for a few minutes it really thickens it, giving you more hold and texture. Instead of just continually adding more, then finding out you didn't need to once the products set in.
I would say this is easily in my top 5 styling products, because of its versatility in looks, finish, hold, and weather resistance abilities. (specifically 100+°F temps{37.7+°C})

I just got some, I’ve tried it twice and both days my hold disappeared within hours and felt and looked greasy. Had waaaay better experience with Moroccanoil. Texture and matte finish increased as the day went on and hold was better as the texture built up.

Does anyone know of a different product that gives the exact same effect as this? Can't use this anymore as it's created a rash on my scalp
