  • The Rubi Slim System Cutter is one of the most affordable porcelain slab cutters on the market. For the price, how good can it actually be? We take a deep dive into the design, maintenance, and procedures to effectively work with gauged porcelain tile panels.
    Porcelain slab installation is a tricky endeavor if you don't have the correct tools. In my videos, I approach each tool review in a way that allows the viewer to know how to properly handle and assemble each tool. The details I go over allow you to know exactly if the tool is right for you and your team.
    The Rubi Slim System is a line of tools from Rubi. Designed in Spain, Rubi is one of the leaders in tile tools. Here are our reviews of other Rubi Slim System Components:

      wow! thanks so much. my next release is on the Rubi TC125. Its an awesome addition if you get the Slim Cutter. It uses the same track system and creates near perfect miters when setup right.

    The opening line was a fantastic attention getter and I literally felt like I was in a classroom watching a training video! Have you ever thought about making an instructional video series on porcelain panels? Literally every last thing you can think of on the matter regarding installs start to finish. Safety, necessary tools, proper installation/fab techniques, timesaving methods, small details to bring quality to the highest level. I'd totally understand if you intend to keep this info your own proprietary blend but man I think you'd do an amazing job on something like that!

      There is a fine line i have to balance with my full-time job to avoid giving away business secrets. I have done some consulting, and teaching is a favorite part for me. Id love to make more instructional videos but they are very time consuming. My last video on the lt2d3d took 16 hrs to shoot and then 8 hrs to write and edit

    Thank you so much for this clear and detailed explanation. Your video is even better than the ones made by RUBI Tools ;-) Even if I'm not a native english speaker, i could understand everything without a problem.

    Hi. Great video. Thank you. You mention that this system can cut up to 8 mm. On my next project, I will be using 10 mm 36" X 72" porcelain panels. Is there a reliable way/trick you know of that would allow me to cut 10 mm tiles with this system, like scoring on both sides? Or do I have to get the TC125? Thanks in advance !

    • @porcelainpanelpro

      Ive had hit and miss experience with 10mm. I personally would go with the tc125. No struggles and ease of cutting

    I bought this at Floor and Decor for the 8ft Slab System and let me tell you it will BREAK YOUR SLAB, please use a Circular Wet Saw and a Turbo Mesh Blade don’t waste $469 like I did

    • @porcelainpanelpro
      @porcelainpanelpro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First off, what table were you using? And what brand of slab material & thickness? There is a very large learning curve no matter what tool you buy. Plus if the slab is compromised from shipping or your table isnt perfectly flat, you will also fail. I encourage you to keep practicing. You’d be surprised how important the slab quality and thickness affects the cutter

      @@porcelainpanelpro 1/4 thick no mesh at bottom , I bought the $600 Rubi table to go with it but the blade doesn’t score deep enough even with multiple passes so I quickly realized a Circular wet saw Is the way to go even it if takes an extra 5 minutes , We broke 2 slabs “practicing” (You Live and You Learn)

      Damn.i bought all of their products mentioned here. The first rail system, the second one with the beefy adjustable crackers…and the TS circular saw which I love. I was gonna attempt to use the scoring system for the first time tomorrow…and now you have me nervous. Screw that. I’m sticking to the TS tomorrow. I’m not up for buying these folks any new tile! Hell, I even have the big boy Rubi DC 250 at the job for my L cuts. Going with the 24”x48”…so I gotta get it right. Thanks for the heads up!!!💯💯💯💯
