VLOG #1 : Our New Buildings Are Old
We finally purchased buildings last week and were able to get the cleaning process started but there is so much to do. Take a quick video tour of our 14-thousand square feet of future office and showroom space that has sat empty since 1997. These buildings, 2 built around 1910 and 2 built in the late 30's, are in dire needs of everything. New Roofs, electrical, plumbing, and major facelifts. It's a project we are focused on making happen in our community of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. It will be one of our pet projects as we look to get our fab shop running too.

Timelapse of Porcelain Slab Statement Wall
Hey. Not sure if you respond to older videos. The content is great. I’m a small GC (ticketed carpenter and electrician) I have had some bad luck with tiling contractors, so I’ve been doing the tiling myself which I really like. I typically do about 5 large washroom renovations per year and they are usually 2x4 porcelain or bigger. Would you recommend this saw for all cuts instead of scoring and snapping? The saws at the rental company are pretty beat up. I have used my makita track saw (typically only use for cabinets and sheet lumber) with a jerry rigged water system on porcelain which works great. Thanks for the tips in the videos. Cheers
I definitely would recommend it for 2x4 tile. In fact, if the tile is 3/8" thick we right away grab the saw. 6mm (1/4) tile can be scored fairly easily, but the track saw gives you control.
Brilliant! Thanks for the reply buddy.
All rubi saws are created, designed, engineered, and assembled by 3rd world trash. None of them are able to cut a straight line. Do not waste your money on this garbage. You have been warned
The saw is one of the best mashine that I found❤. But the track is the last garbage. The saw is Always popping out. I will be returning back to the store. Will be looking for something else
@@sergeihumann1299 i dont think i have had that problem. Are you pushing too hard or do you mean the track comes loose?
@porcelainpanelpro the track are not getting loose. Self saw is popping out of track. I have sigma weat cut that is on track also and I can use only 2 fingers by pushing that saw, the track is holding mashine in place. When rubi you have to hold the mashine almost perfect. Sigma is locking the mashine in to the track.
@@sergeihumann1299 ah. I know what you are saying now.
Thank you man. This video was very helpful for a project I have tomorrow for a ceiling
My pleasure. Make sure you mark the front and back on the drawing. I always get my mind confused when flipping the pieces around.
When will be available in stores..?
I expect either this 3rd quarter of 2024 or 4th quarter
Not recommend, u need to be very skillful to use it. I broke manyboiece, watch the video over and over again. Very difficult job.
@@sshingchan working with slabs is very difficult and not for the faint of heart. The tool works but often the slabs are the source of many headaches
Ease up on the clips please
@@SC-tb8wx yea tried out that style but for future videos gonna keep it straight boring
@porcelainpanelpro Some of the clips were good, I love the references but on an informational type of video, people appreciate the straightforward and clear way of communicating that you had with not too much fluff
Previously, these suction cups were adjusted to lower pressure, but now they are not adjusted and it is only possible to break the glass somewhere on an expensive facade, and there is no connection with the manufacturer. I returned the product and am waiting for my money.
which brand? That is the first I have heard. I have just begun working with special art glass panels so could be a concern for me.
Weha Only available in USA, $189.00. That makes in a None Starter.
Incorrect, you can find for $149. So when you add the cost of AA batteries and the cheaper build, tuffcup comes out ahead of the ottovac. But again, both companies are updating as we speak
@@porcelainpanelpro better price, still only available in the USA. Not sure but that possibly means Warranty is only valid in USA. When the time comes I will investigate more.
@@derekparent752 where are you based? Weha is a German brand.
@@porcelainpanelpro Canada, and I see there is only US sales in my neighborhood. Thank you for the replies.
@@derekparent752 my homeland! Sorry you cant get the good stuff.
Dewalt and possibly every other tool company has a neat USB adapter that a 20v battery connects to. Look them up.
@@derekparent752 2nd generation cups are coming out. These will be obsolete soon
Nathan, are you still filling your miters like this?
@@flovaladez601 nope
perhaps I should shoot a new video...
Got a Ottovac and it came with a rechargeable LI battery pack and the standard AA battery pack. Does have a lot of plastic on it. Not sure how it’ll hold up but handle and rubber feels very similar to the manual wood powergrips we use all the time. Well see how she holds up.
Yes, they've updated their product after the batteries would burn up so quickly. The entire industry is switching to Lithium batteries. Second generation cups from Montolit, Weha, and Rubi are going to be phenomenal.
Does the saw use the same track as the Rubi slim snapper?
Yes it does
@@porcelainpanelpro thank you for replying so fast. I just ordered the saw after having the Rubi snapper track and I can’t figure out how the saw sits on the guide. I’m thinking I have the wrong guide?
Never mind I figured it out. I have gen 1 guides and bought the gen 2 saw.
@@Freshcheez its as if companies want to sell more than one unit…
@@porcelainpanelpro Lol they sent the wrong saw. It did not say anywhere it was gen2 and didn’t work with gen1 tracks (that I already had)
thankyou for your review what size of compressor is needed to run this saw how many cfm is needed
Ill need to research and double check. I feel like we were running at 90cfm, but if u go too high it will ruin components of both polishers and saws
Good Video.
Thanks!
Video has more cut scenes than Kill Bill..
Gotta keep the kids entertained
Thanks brother! This is going to hell me on my current project. I just purchased this product without the rails. They were too expensive for the budget after the saw purchase.. but I made it work with a 4’ level clamped down to the tile..
If it was too expensive i might suggest you raise your prices. These are the most affordable on the market
I enjoyed the video, what is the model number of the newest Rubi slim cutter
There is the new G3 (been out a year) and then the pro slim just received a face lift but not sure of availability date. Q3 probably
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you
Hello, what is the purpose of the suction cup where they offer clamp in the bottom? Will the clamp in the bottom should be suffice?
Just another way to secure and stabilize the track
WHAT is this trash, besides being trash? or is it just THAT?
would like you to do a review of the new Montolit! By the way, how much do they cost?
Had a conversation with Guiseppe at Montolit (head guy) and they want me to look over some new items. Ill ask Gundlach for pricing
Excellent information! Will u do a review on Montolit New suction cups Geco and Gecone?
Hopefully so. Going to look this morning at coverings
I have a 24x48 tile install. I'm a tile contractor. I own numerous wet and snap wheel saws. I'm debating on a Rubi bridge saw or this for U and L type cuts. Mitres would be a big plus also. Thoughts?
I just had a two month ordeal with 24x48 that would not cut for its lift. The tc125 again proved its value by step cutting and giving us clean cuts
The bridge saw we had on site could not handle well enough with standard electricity
Good point. This is a new build. Most outlets at the Contruction phase here are 15-20amp 110v
Previše vode
No such thing. More water the better to keep tools and material cool. If the tile heats up, thermal expansion occurs and it is prone to chip
Does the Weha work with plywood?
Im sure it could but may not be recommended
@@porcelainpanelpro thx i'll stick with the grabo pro then large plywood sheet is my main use of it
In which moderno you used to work?
I was in Houston when it began as employee 13 and left after two years to take a GM role in Raleigh. Now i am a managing partner of King Tile doing porcelain only installs and fabrication while trying to expand in a more cost conscious manner
@@porcelainpanelpro that is awesome congrats! I relocates from Miami to work at Moderno Denver and yesterday I moved from Denver to work with Moderno San Diego. Love your videos by the way, great job! Keep it up!
I don’t know if you still check this video clip , but if you do , please let me know what blade did you use to cut this porcelain tile , thanks. I appreciate it !
This was a special blade that is hard to come by. However, try the Rubi ECD 4.5” blade. Is a great option for everything we do
@@porcelainpanelpro thanks so much my friend. This morning I tried to use Rubi saw ( pretty new blade) to cut 47”x23” porcelain tile , but couldn’t cut it right , also tried to cut with grinder too, chips along the tile edge. Then Went to best tile store in Sanfrancisco, get the 6” katana blade for ( alpha track saw ) and 5” katana blade just made for porcelain- dry cut , brought it to the job site, tried the 5” on the Rubi , even tried it on battery dewalt grinder too with this new Japanese blade, still got chips . So disappointed, went back to floor decor , spent another $1800 something to get the Rubi DC 250-1200 wet saw , will try to cut this porcelain tile 24”x47” tomorrow. I will get the Rubi Blade that you suggested, and try it some day . Anyway, thanks so much for your answer, I really appreciate it .
@@HieuTran-iy3ui are you cutting miters or straight cuts? Straight cuts I’m cutting tiles like you and step cutting using ultra thin mesh. The katana is very aggressive and will lead to chipping. I always do a quick polish and roll over of my edges.
Wow, you cut so easy and smooth while mine, same as yours , can’t do the job. when I bought it from floor decor, something missing in there , even rubber part attached to the track so it won’t scratch the materials that you mentioned above , I don’t have that either . Maybe the cutter already cut many time before? I don’t know, mine just simply useless.
What material are you handling? Table and material has a lot to deal with. I recently had a polished slab project from a major supplier that went horrible. Slab was the culprit as their matte cut easily
Great video Nathan!
Thank you
Great informative video! Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice shirt ! Didnt recognize it when i saw your video for the first time, but iv been choosen to tile all the Consentino showroom in France, we have to start in february, any advice with their product? I now its an heavy density material, not affraid about it but im searching for a good mitering machine to speed up the process, actually doing it with angle grinder and a lot of polishing to have a 0.5/1mm gap, have you been able to test the différent edger like RUBI or Raimondi ? Thanks! And great work and channel! Love it!
For one year i use on battery angle grinder, mainly for the polishing pads but now i cant made a job without 😅
I love my mine!

There are so many different manufacturers moving towards porcelain panels. What are your thought of who is currently making the best quality panels with the most clarity and durability?
I can remember in 2015/16 being able to tell where every private labeled slab came from. One of three factories. Now the market is getting option after option. Neolith, Dekton, Iris/Stonepeak all make great material. I would be wary of some small time private brands from granite distributors who have no idea what they are ordering in. They just know they need to have porcelain now. The next three years are going to be interesting.
@@porcelainpanelpro That’s awesome! Thank You sir.
Hi. Great video. Thank you. You mention that this system can cut up to 8 mm. On my next project, I will be using 10 mm 36" X 72" porcelain panels. Is there a reliable way/trick you know of that would allow me to cut 10 mm tiles with this system, like scoring on both sides? Or do I have to get the TC125? Thanks in advance !
Ive had hit and miss experience with 10mm. I personally would go with the tc125. No struggles and ease of cutting
You had me up until "2 hours to charge."
Yes but lasts for days. I charged a month ago and just yesterday left it charging overnight. Really not a problem
Entertaining plus information - thank you!

Ive actually found out a few updates after posting this video from Alpha. Will post by the weekend the corrections
Nice video, by any chance you know where can I buy battery charger for the Suabu?
I would think amazon can get you a basic charger for that style of battery
@@porcelainpanelpro i have to tip toe and have no clue why my comments gets deleted. The charger is charging the batteries, but it creates a short every time i plug it in... Cant get replacement because it was open box item from ebay
@@porcelainpanelpro If I can find seller that sells the charger I might get few batteries too, the tool has impressive performance and I can see my self using it a lot on 24x48 tiles on the wall
@@bazemk5111979 on my tests it broke quickly and i had no support if i was outside 30 days. Russo and Gundlach will support you with the ithers
@@porcelainpanelpro I think next time I will go with brand that offers spares, not the Montolit though they want $500 and its virtually the same tool that came from the same manufacturer with stronger batteries. Will see how long mine lasts, I intend to use it on walls from time to time for the large tiles. I wish I had it 2 months a go when I was installing the 24x48 on a 12 foot ceiling master bath
I hope a brand like Makita starts making some kind of tool like this to compete in the market.
Really they are all seemingly being built in a similar way. The key difference is battery power. If Makita made one, they would probably go to the same factory and utilize businesses of scale. ie almost all microwaves are built by the same business but get a different brand label stuck on it.
I never thought that way.@@porcelainpanelpro

I bought this at Floor and Decor for the 8ft Slab System and let me tell you it will BREAK YOUR SLAB, please use a Circular Wet Saw and a Turbo Mesh Blade don’t waste $469 like I did
First off, what table were you using? And what brand of slab material & thickness? There is a very large learning curve no matter what tool you buy. Plus if the slab is compromised from shipping or your table isnt perfectly flat, you will also fail. I encourage you to keep practicing. You’d be surprised how important the slab quality and thickness affects the cutter
@@porcelainpanelpro 1/4 thick no mesh at bottom , I bought the $600 Rubi table to go with it but the blade doesn’t score deep enough even with multiple passes so I quickly realized a Circular wet saw Is the way to go even it if takes an extra 5 minutes , We broke 2 slabs “practicing” (You Live and You Learn)
Damn.i bought all of their products mentioned here. The first rail system, the second one with the beefy adjustable crackers…and the TS circular saw which I love. I was gonna attempt to use the scoring system for the first time tomorrow…and now you have me nervous. Screw that. I’m sticking to the TS tomorrow. I’m not up for buying these folks any new tile! Hell, I even have the big boy Rubi DC 250 at the job for my L cuts. Going with the 24”x48”…so I gotta get it right. Thanks for the heads up!!!💯💯💯💯
@@EvRyDayCarrymy man, I’m having a hard time cutting 48x48 even with a wet saw, about to cry so frustrated
@ get 4 inch grinder and put a Rubi blade on it with a sponge 🧽 will easily cut 48x48 no wet saw needed
Great video! Couple tech related questions though. I started with the LT55 when it came out. Now using the LT2D3D which has been money. So how did you shoot the floor and ceiling accurately without using the green dot matte tape? Also, theres no way you shot that close to adjacent walls/floor/ceiling without using the black filter. I'm guessing you were just giving the basics? Either way, great video!
Thanks for the comment and view. A key detail is always double checking dimensions pre/post measure. You may get better at knowing when the laser stretches or gets absorbed. With the old software I could tell pretty quick if i was off. With Raptor a few clicks will alert you issues. But as always, double check. The wall in the video had old dirty paint that gave good reflection for measurements
Would a water jet give you a chip free miter?
Good question. I have seen just one machine worth the investment in my opinion for a clean miter. It was slower but had an awesome end product. Granted, you better have deep pockets. Flowjet is a steep jump in investment capital. If you are just starting this is a good option. But as always, results may vary.
@@porcelainpanelpro Thank you sir! Quick question. Do you still use klingspor pads? If so then which ones are they?
Yessir I do. P33 I believe is the type. @@joseoviedo1644
