For everyday driving having 4 wheel steering just enables tighter turns at slow speeds and better tracking at higher speeds on windy roads. I have it on my 2015 Lexus RC 350 f-sport. I don't think you will miss what you never had - save the money and leave it alone. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - others have mentioned they had issues OR it wasn't anything notable to keep. Good Luck Love your Videos!
I own a r34gtt and a lock out bar is better than hicas because hicas is always trying to correct the wheels if they brake traction which could send you into a bush trust your lucky to have it installed already.
They have different engines too. iirc, GT25 is an NA RB25DE, GTT is a single turbo RB25DET. Don't quote me on any of that though, I could be wrong. EDIT: Forgot to mention, GTR is RB26DETT
HICAS Can cause so many issues, people have problems where the rear wheels wont align properly and at high speeds it can make you think the back end is stepping out and cause you to try correct it. Maybe if you don't want to crash the car Keep the HICAS delete/lockout. If you're going to go for HICAS make sure everything is perfect, (sensors, alignment, toe) and it should be fine.
I've still got 4 wheel steering in my R33, I like it, makes the car feel more alive and responsive to my inputs haha. I do like to do skids though so maybe one day I will get a lock out bar. I recommend you try it! :)
have an r33 myself have had 2 one with hicas and one without. really interesting experience having one with hicas after the frist one having it locked out id say give it ago, not sure on the R34 but i know the r33 system was mostly electric not like the R32 that had the lines going from the power steering pump to the rear end, you may still have the hicas control unit under the rear parcel shelf, if so you may be lucky and only need the rear unit for the suspension providing they didnt hack the loom off.. being a gtr you'd hope not.
@@BlackPanthaa if im not mistaken hicas is also there to help keep the car stable at high speeds. if you want to lane split on the m25 at like 140mph in comfort then do it lol
Haha, I've loved them since I was a toddler! Finally managed to get one a few months ago and its an absolute dream come true. I make vids about it on my channel if you wanna check it out
had nothing but problems with my 4 steer wheel system, although this was a 32 GTR so i locked it out, it worked fine when i first got it and really i didnt notice much if any difference with it working
try out if you dont like it just put it back on, you'll only know if you try it or you could find someone who has a gtr with rear wheel steering and try it on their car first
if you guys dont know, the rear steering is called ATTESA stands for Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain applied on Nissan Avenir, Sunny, Bluebird, Primera, Praire, Pulsar, almost all type of GTR, Laurel, A31 Cefiro, Skyline Sedan (the G35 on murica) and some Infinitis
i watch you since you started doing the need for speed 2015 reviews before lunch, and seeing that you now own your dream car that we always wanted you to have makes me happy for you, you are easily one of the best youtubers i've ever watched, keep up the good work, nobed
Thank u so much theo. Youre the man. This is also my dream car. I love every version of the skyline alonemg with the gtr r 35 and going all the way back to the 2000 but im so happy you have this car and we can all experience it with you
If its not been stripped out. Or its just hydraulic lines missing or the electric version missing a motor. I say take it out and try it. I have a n a z32 and I've ridden in a TT z32 with the HICAS system. It's a little spooky but it's also really cool and does help handling in the owners opinion
People will always hate, easier said then done but try and ignore negativity. At the end of the day it is your car and your money so do what you want. Do whats convenient for you. The people who dislike and unsub because of the choices you make that affect them in no possible way are ass hats. And always ask owners clubs and professional specialists if your unsure of anything, does not hurt to ask. Stay cool and keep up the fantastic and funny content ;)
Depends on what was done to the rear wheel steering. It might just be a simple plugging back the rear wheel steering wiring loom or replacing a fuse for the Super HICAS in the fuse box. Or it could be a full reverting back the Super HICAS system, if the previous owner fully remove the actuator. The R33 and R34 uses the Super HICAS system which is electrically powering an actuator to the rear steering arm. It does help even when you are trying to park the car. But as mentioned, the system only works only when the car engine is running. Check with a Skyline GT-R garage to see what are needed to remove the lock out bar. Take it slowly. Peace man.
Haters are gonna hate... All you have to do is to do whatever you feel like... At the end of the Day is your car your pocket your style dont let anybody else alter that. Keep up the good work... Greetings from greece!
Love the carbon, dunno what people are on about with that. As for the all wheel driving i myself would just shoot for it and try it out i mean if you plan to drive this as somewhat of a daily then i'd say worth. Also love that you're including the subs in the build, i myself was looking at an r32 in canada and its just dope to be a part of somebody elses build and get to experience all of this with you as you yourself experience it :) keep it up man, love the car vids.
If you want to do it then do it. I have a gtst with hicas but i don’t drift my car. It definitely makes a difference when making tighter turns at slows speed and improves turn in at high speeds. I have never had any issues with it either and when I do slide my car occasionally I have learned to control it even with hicas
Removing that lock isn't a waste of time in my opinion since you get more familiar with your car and get more knowledge on it. If you prefer with the lock you can always put it back on again. Also do what you want to it. Your car, your money. We're just glad that you've made your dream come true!
Nice video dude. My R33 still has HICAS and I really like it. It definitely makes the car feel more nimble especially when changing lanes on motorways, and in tight, short corners. It's in high speed, long sweeping turns that some people say it makes the car feel unstable, So unless you are going to track it I don't think it would ever feel like that on the road. It was more of a benefit to remove it on R32s as it was a hydraulic system, and ripping it out saved a load of weight. But on R33s and R34s it's electronically controlled so the weight saving is pretty small. You can have a go in my 33 to see what it's like if you want, obviously a different car but HICAS is HICAS really. Would save paying for it if you didn't like it.
I'd remove the lock out the aws ( all wheel steering ) will improve the speeds that you can enter a corner and really helps win parallel parking, know from experience cause of my vr4 I own. It might get a bit pricey on fixing it if the rear power steering lines are corroded or missing.
The hicas is commonly removed from the GTR's once power is increased to high HP as the hicas can create some instability at higher speed. This is not be confused with the atezza system that is the torque vectering through corners etc the hicas doesnt effect that.
I am looking to buy a GTR R32 very soon, and I would still like to keep the HICAS as this is what the skyline's were all about. In order to experience the true legend, than you should keep the car as standard as possible drive-ability wise. Good luck and awesome car.
it depends what your intention is for the car. if you are looking to go more power *single turbo* hint hint, i would advise you keep it man as it gives stability on higher speeds
Rear wheel steer is ok on some cars but for everyday driving you want to have the rear wheels to be stiff so you don't accidentally hit people or buildings. Save money and buy stuff that will look good on the Skyline. I love the videos
My Father has a Skyline like that but the color is midnight purple with a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Its very much as nice as I think ALL Skylines are (unless someone out in the world riced one out).
Great car! Everything is perfect on it! Just change those front indicators, they look „cheap-aftermarket“. I suggest you some indicators from nismo clear/ black tinted.
You could drive the skyline with the lockout bar for a while and get used to it. and then after a while take it off to see the difference it makes in the feel of the car. Also i wonder how the all wheel steer affects tire wear
Theo! The gtr is perfect even with little modifications on it... the all wheel steer is risky let alone on awful uk potholed roads id personally stick to the locking system to save you time and money..which in the mean time you could then upgrade the exhaust system? Your choice buddy!
I have a 1991 dodge stealth rt tt (same as the 3000gt vr4) I have aws on it honestly I love it but it is a learning curve it'll turn really hard from lane to lane but you've driven the Porsche with it so you should know I think you should put the aws back in it
i love you man, your vids are great, your such a nice guy, and i love the style of the car! the rims, everything, but black rear lights would be so sick! :D
I’ve heard mixed things about Hicas systems. One of my friends had an r32 rb25 and his had a lockbar. The only bad thing i’ve heard really is that the rws is super dangerous at high speeds
Why are ppl hating so much on this build? Do you not realize that this is this mans dream car? Do you really think he would ruin it on any way shape or form, or just ruin his experience with the car? Y’all should take that into consideration before saying shit about what he has done or is going to do with the car, Theo has wanted an R34 since I subbed to the channel wich was 4/5 years ago do you really think he would ruin his dream?
Honestly if I was in your position I’d try it out and then choose wether or not I’m putting the lock out in place. I’ve heard there’s a toggle mechanism you can have installed to turn on and off the rear steering but that sounds kinda expensive lol
The hicas on my z32 saved my ass from slamming into a concrete barrier during an unexpected oversteer so it's alright in my book. Also if you like driving on narrow winding roads it's fantastic.
Your videos are great been a subscriber for a few years. I’d want to experience the rear wheel steering. There is a way of deactivating the rear wheel steering by removing the module, in essence unplugging it. My understanding is its easy just need to do some research. Lovin the GTR videos.
HICAS is more trouble than it's worth. From my days with skylines I came to understand that It only kicks in when needed at obscene speeds that you're not going to be corner at unless on a track. Something like 80km/hr or so. Below that it doesn't function. Also, I've read horror stories about HICAS producing a fault at highway speed on a straight and kicking the back out all of a sudden uncalled for on a highway. Believe me, HICAS is not necessary and the risk is far far greater than the reward. Previous owner was spot on to lock it out. It's not like they gained performance from locking it out or anything like that. What they gained was reliability and reassurance that a stupid system won't fail unannounced. Btw. I preferred the body colour of the Sideskirts etc. made the car look so much wider. Body colour sides, front lip and spats, but carbon front an rear under spoiler would be much better. I know it's personal preference anyway. And the rear camera thing is totally understandable and the best thing you can do. I came from two skylines, and then a WRX STI, all without cameras and sensors, to an A45 with it from standard and it is a god send and I went ever own a car without one again. Those people that comment about that and infer on your driving schools are like 12 years old. Skylines especially have massive asses and it would be quite easy to back them in to a wall of a tight parking lot. So many times over the years did I have to get out and check my backside in my previous cars while parking. Never a problem now with the A45
Dont even acknowledge the negative comments, if people are spewing negativity at you it is because you are doing something right, FOR INSTANCE, YOU HAVE A CAR EVERYONE HERE LOVES AND MOST DONT HAVE!
its just insecure people that try to put insecurity on you, your doing a great job with your videos and your personality is great mate

Unless you're tracking the car, the system is next to useless and can be very abrupt and spooky. It's not worth it to revert it.
