    Nice review mate, thank you. I’ve had a few of these, regged and unregged and they’re great rifles. Just FYI, you can fill the regged version to 250 bar ( and you’d have to to get 90 shots in .177).
    They can be a bit twangy but always very accurate. Keep the reviews coming please, your matter of fact style is a breath of fresh air.

      @@Seamaster1963 I know what you mean fella, no two rifles are the same, thats why the Lee Enfield, every gun built the exact same way, came off the same production assembly line, when fired, a small percentage were super accurate, These went to the snipers, the others were still accurate, but not on the same level. I've fired the same rifles when buying a PCP and one had a clearly louder action when next to my ear.

    Hi Richard! Wanted to say that was a very well-put-together review of the S510! I have the .177 Ultimate Sporter in laminate, but I'm really liking the walnut version since I've started seeing that. I also have the Daystate Wolverine R but I still believe that the S510 is superbly accurate...even over the Wolverine! It is my goto rifle and my baseline against all other airguns I own. Cheers from North Carolina, U.S.!

    I’ve got one of these and, as I recently subscribed to your channel, TH-cam sent me this fairly old review. I agreed with everything you said except you were to polite. This rifle could have been the best of its kind but it’s flawed with silly, easily fixed issues - like the safety catch and the pellet magazines which you mention - both irritate me every time I use the rifle. Its inability to stop double loading is another omission on a rifle in this price range. I prefer my HW100 and will probably end up selling the S510.

    Bought one of these today in.177 as i've always wanted the "R" version, & there are very few criticisms on them, (only good things) so i thought i'd see if you'd done a review on them as you give honest opinions, & not BS to keep the manufacturers happy.
    One thing you said was about it not saying the working pressure anywhere on the rifle, but if you look on the cylinder, it says MWP250bar in tiny writing.
    Like you say, safety not great, but easily accessible, & functional.
    I'm not a fan of this style of pressure gauge that AA have fitted, although it's nice to see it away from the dangerous end (well done AA).........&.........OMG what a laser! Is there any pellet this rifle won't shoot? If there is, I haven't found it.
    I know you must enjoy doing these reviews, but for us "less fortunate" shooters, it's good to have someone out there doing honest reviews, whatever the rifle, & whatever the outcome.
    Keep up the good work.

      Thanks very much Steven. They are incredible rifles and, as you say, laser accurate. I'm just a bloke who loves his air rifles and loves talking about them even more. I say it as I see it, but happy to accept that some people will see things differently to me. I am indeed fortunate to get to play with lots of rifles that aren't mine and the vast majority are really great products. I always try to convey that just because I don't like something on a rifle it doesn't mean its necessarily bad/wrong, just not to my taste. That's not intended to imply that my taste is the yardstick by which products should be measured because I'm nothing special and my opinion is worth what people pay for it - nowt! Thanks for watching and enjoy your new rifle.

Thank You.

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark. Thanks for the very kind comments. I've been around airguns most of my life, but this video stuff is all new to me! Fortunately a £1,200 budget opens things up very nicely and there are lots of options (though that might be part of the problem too!). The thing to bear in mind is that at that kind of price most air rifles are going to perform extremely well in terms of consistently putting pellets where you want them to go. The not-so-helpful thing is that there really is no 'best rifle'; its a very subjective thing and a rifle that is great for one person is not so great for another. The best thing to do is narrow down the options in terms of budget, suitability and style and then try to get into a gun shop and see if you can put them to your shoulder. The right rifle will feel...well, right. Let me ask a few questions: 1) are you including a scope in your £1200 budget, or would that be an additional cost? 2) are you looking to shoot in competitions, or shoot targets informally at say a club or in your garden? 3) would you class yourself as small, medium or large build? I'll probably have a few other questions to throw at you. If you'd like to carry on the conversation privately, you can reach me at alphamilitaria.com/ama/

      Hi Jim - thanks very much. I'll be honest here, and it won't help you much, but both the rifles you mention are simply fantastic. Accurate, well-made and beautiful to look at. They are both extremely reliable as well because they are based on designs that have been perfected (or at least improved) for many years so that all the issues have been engineered out. Either one will be a pleasure to own and shoot. As I've often said before, this is one of those cases where you really can let your heart rule your head and go with the rifle that appeals most to you. If you haven't already, try and see them both and at least put them in your shoulder. Hopefully one will emerge as the rifle you want. I don't own an S510, but I have a Huntsman Revere. If you're anywhere near Reading you're more than welcome to have a shoot with it. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck!

Let’s not forget it’s not tune-able in no way.. again, not acceptable in an expensive gun. I don’t see them changing their fit Nike any time soon, it took them years to finally add a regulator but by then they’ve fallen behind. Hi. I'm afraid I'm not going to be a whole lot of help here because both are top performing rifles with the same kind of super-accurate performance. The difference will be shoulder fit and general feel of what is right for you. The only way to decide between the two is to pick them both up and, if possible, have a shoot with them. Great video and very informative. I can’t decide between the fx dreamline or the ultimate sporter. This will be my first pcp. I’m thinking about the .25 mainly. The main purpose will be shoot targets and small game hunting. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I’m stuck between the two.

      @@justinprice9172 Hi Justin. Both fine rifles. The one thing I'd say is that with the FX Dreamline you have the flexibility of configuring it as a traditional rifle, bullpup, lightweight tactical etc. You can, I believe, even fit a bottle to it - all extra cost of course, but it does give you more options. Let us know what you decide and thanks for watching.

      Hi Jeff. The rifle in the video was 30 ft lbs FAC so probably a bit louder than a 12 ft lbs version, but still very quiet. Its as quiet as most other PCP air rifles I own and I wouldn't have any concerns about using it in the garden. In my experience, most of the noise when shooting in the back garden comes from the targets you shoot at at the back stop rather than the rifle itself.

    What do I concider when choosing between the .177, .22, .25 ??

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi George. Thanks for watching. Trajectory is the main thing to consider. At 12 ft. lbs. a .177 pellet will fly fastest and flattest because it is the smallest calibre. And .25 will be slowest and loopiest. That's fine if you plan on shooting at the same distance all the time - say on a range. But if you are planning on hunting , or shooting at different distances, you will need to work out different aim points - the extent to which you will have to aim above the point at which you have zeroed your rifle. With a .177 rifle you will have to hold over less, with a .25 you will have to hold over more. One other point. Many people feel that if they are hunting they need the biggest calibre. The reality though is that accuracy is more important and an accurately placed pellet of any calibre will be effective. I hope that helps!

Is awful accurate 😅 so I start thinking about something that gonna brake the bank but I expecting grouping pellet on pellets. would you recommend anything better than AA at 1000 £ price point? cheers

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Sorry to hear the Hatsan isn't doing it for you. I'm assuming you've done all the usual things of cleaning the barrel, making sure all the stock screws are tight and trying several different types of good quality pellets (H&N, JSB, Air Arms etc.?). There are lots of good rifles around the £1000 mark. The good news is that there are several for considerably less that will offer performance at 30m on a par with many more expensive rifles. I'm a big fan of the Kral NP-03, which we've reviewed on the channel and retails for around £450. And Reximex are also producing some great rifles too. The Pretensis is a cracker if you're looking for a more traditional sporter stock.

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a hard one Jon, it really is as they are all excellent rifles and designed to serve the same niche in the market. The 510 does have the benefit of the adjustable buttpad and cheek-piece but the Huntsman Regal / Revere has, in my opinion, the edge when it comes to the aesthetics of the stock. All of them will stack pellets on top of each other though. If you're thinking of buying one of them all I can suggest is that if at all possible, you put all three of them to your shoulder - but not at the same time! - to see which feels right for you.

After I threatened legal action they agreed to take it back no questions asked. I paid the difference for the AA S510 US. I zeroed it within 5 shots and its pellet on pellet with AA Diablo Fields.
