I honestly have to question if there actually was a stealth revision to the tuning. Planar drivers have quite a bit of unit variation and a 1.5 dB discrepancy is relatively small. The differences you've measured aren't even the same as the ones Shortbus reported. The whole controversy could easily be chalked up to unit variation.
Hi Ian!!! I didn't seem to understand that you mentioned it during the video, so my question is: both sets are measured with the same filter (silver, red, rose gold?). I don't get to appreciate it correctly. They look like the silver ones... and from my inexperience I don't know if the filters can interfere with the measurement.... (I don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly, sorry). Thanks!
🤨🤔 Can't help but wonder if this 2nd set was sent by Hidizs to try and "disprove" the stealth re-tune allegations? I imagine a Hidisz rep trying to convey: "Look, guys! They measure almost the same. See. No re-tune going on here!" Lastly, I want to make clear that no ill intent is meant to be directed towards Ian. I am just skeptical of Hidisz since I have started to learn more about their shady business practices...

Could the discrepancy be due to lackof break-in period of the new set?
this is a planar driver my friend, no "burn in" required. and personally i don't consider 1db difference a discrepancy.
