this is the very best concert i have ever watched it is music heaven thank you for sharing brings back a lot of good memories and i am 66 years old :) i wish i could go to a concert like this before i die
Cowabunga from Southern California! This is what American Rock 'n' Roll is all about! "I'll Go Crazy" - Holy Moly!! I'd kill to have that horn section behind me - but. then I ain't The Buckinghams. Tell me we haven't taken Doc Brown's Delorean back in time! It's a Love Fest of Chicago-area '60s and '70s Rock 'n' Roll. Nick Fortuna is another Springsteen - just not as pretty. Who thought this '60s Chicago Power Pop band had such big balls? "Expressway" and "Domino" - Lord have mercy!

If you click on my thumbnail picture, that’s me arguing my first (of three) cases before the Supreme Court in 1983. I loved the Buckinghams’ hit records. Jim Holvay wrote most of the really big ones. I was a trumpet player and really welcomed the use of brass. Groundbreaking. Served as a model for Chicago and other “horn bands.” I actually met Carl and Nick when I was playing a gig at a hotel in Orlando. They were playing in an adjoining ballroom in one of those big hotels. I don’t mean to knock them. I just hate to see them perform songs which they should leave alone.
Dennis Tufano is the voice of the Buckinghams. Carl sounds more like Tony Bennett or someone from that genre. I have heard Dennis with his band and he sounds more lie that original Buckinghams
I've seen this collection perform countless times, but I don't recall Nick Fortuna taking the lead It's heartwarming to see how they each defer to the other when appropriate. That's true professionalism...and way cool.
The Buckinghams are one of my favorite bands, but that was just lame. They have masterpieces like 'Time and Charges' and 'Portraits' and they come off as some common covers band that anybody could hear down at the local Elks club. This performance was definitely kind of a drag.
@@dhart8451As I stated above, no one can sing these songs as well as the original lead singer, Dennis Tufano, who departed the band back in the 1970's. Carl used to be able to do these vocals much better 10-12 years ago, when I last saw the group as part of The Turtles Happy Together Tour and a few other venues, but age and time have definitely taken their toll on his voice. Dennis Tufano still sounds great as a solo act, but it would be nice to someday see him back with the group that he fronted back in the 1960's. I had a big crush on him when I was 11.
This recording doesn't quite do the band justice. I've seen The Buckinghams many dozens of times at suburban Chicago fests, with Carl Giammerese...and you would be hard pressed to find another band with the energy and 'fun' they offer. The Cryan' Shames, with the band Scramble, is every bit as rewarding.

I remember back in the day playing on the same bill with them and the Grassroots...both really good groups.
The Buckingham's is one the best band of the sixties worth to collect. They have many good songs. Raffy Villanueva from manila Philippines.
