Thank you so much, and I love how real and unedited your videos are! So the lovely Burkes clog a bit? Won't stop me from investing in one or three, lol, but now I will be prepared, and won't be disappointed if i order. Your channel has become my go to among all of them! 😊
That's an awesome sound, thanks for the upload. I'm always surprised by how clean and pure Burkes sound when played well, they're just unique. Nice playing as well.
Burke makes a great whistle. I do prefer the sound of the aluminum D over the brass D, but I like the look of the brass more. Although, I must say that Burke aluminum C whistle might be my new favorite whistle.
They're definitely similar. In my experience, the aluminum has been a little more resonant on the bottom, and brighter at the top, but you have to play them side by side to really notice the difference.
I haven't tried the Lír. I haven't had an issue with my Killarney, but some people have reported problems with clogging. It might be that there are consistency issues. The Burkes are fine once you've warmed them up, and I've not heard of anyone complaining about clogging.
Lovely playing as always. What is the black whistle your playing? Is it a Carbony? also I thing the Burke Brass actually sounds a tiny bit harsher than the aluminum. I have both D Alumin ad I perfer the Brass. Thanks again Alaos what's the name of teh tune you played before the Kesh Jig at 14:43 on the black whistle
Yes, that's a Carbony high D with the extra low C# hole. It's an older model that's breathier than some of the newer ones. "Jerry's Beaver Hat" is the tune.

Excellent comparison
I may have to pull the trigger on the brass session.
Nice comparison. I have the alum session D and always wondered how it sounded compared to the brass. Seems pretty similar. Thanks!

Both sound good but different! Thank you for the comparison. Would you say the Burkes clog more or less than a Killarney or Lir?

Didn’t you make comparison Killarney and Burkey? How much different are they?
