  • In this video I will teach you how to make a similar design for your project. .
    I love how this turned out and I am sure it will look great on my work desk . Ofcourse I will share my code for this clock, I will also show you how to upload it to your T-Display board using Arduino IDE, there are few settings you need to modify , so stay tuned. But again, this video is about making this electronic PCB DESIGN. Sponsor of this video is PCBWay www.pcbway.com/ on their site you can find many cool projects.

    I have learned much from your TTGO T-Display and TTGO T-Display-S3 videos. I received my TTGO T-Display-S3 yesterday and followed your instructions on this video. It looks great! I like how you use WiFi for retrieving the time. I plan to look into other information I can retrieve (maybe weather or ?) and tie it in as well. Thanks for the great job you do. I always look forward to your videos. I'm considering trying the M5 Stick C Plus to get a better idea of how it works.

    I think my friends will also get a kick out of this.. the CPU speed especially will peak their interest.
    If you put a lipo battery small enough to fit INSIDE the case in there.. do you have any idea how long it will run? and perhaps more importantly, can it automatically re-charge thru the USB in these T Display S3's ? Also is there much room left to add more program code in there alongside all the graphic header files? Nice Project!

    My display stopped working after only 2 months unfortunately. I think a component burnt out: it's a sop23-5 component I think which is located on the left side between two caps (looking at the backside of the board with the usb-c connection downwards). Could someone with a working board look at the lettering on the chip and tell me the type so I can replace it? I presume it's some sort of voltage regulator (5v or 3.3v?)

    • @helmutalt566
      @helmutalt566 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The chip is signed with: 2U=D/C. I can't find this on search. Lilygo provides the Shematics od the board. I suggest that it is U7, a 3.3v Regulator with the describtion AP2112K-3.3V. You can order 10 pices for less than 1,00€ + Transport from China.

    Did you try making anything that interacts with ChatGPT? :)

    • @oilybrakes
      @oilybrakes ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, chat GPT is a huge help when coding.
      However, you need to keep in mind that the free version is trained with old data and thus can't tell anything about stuff it was not trained with and is only being developed now.
      Also, Chat GPT can not analyse stuff as such. Chat GPT is basically like a T9 algorithm that keeps putting the most likely word after the last word, considering the entire input so far.
      That works quite good for code and stuff that already is established and well documented.
      Not so well for random texts though (at least yesterday as I asked it to correct a text I have written and pasted in).
      As a conclusion, use it! But dont rely on it too much.

      @@oilybrakes I've used OpenAI ChatGPT and APIs since they came out many months ago, it depends. Even with code I work with so many edge cases that half of the times it's wrong. @@fabryz I've been using ChatGPT 4 as a Plus member for a week and for a nubie like me it's very very handy to help figure out what causes all those stupid compile errors I seem to make integrating and modifying code .. I just feed it my code and it's been very good at finding errors a hell of a lot faster than any DISCORD or forum human would. BUT, I also know it doesn't know what a TTGO dev board of any flavor is.. or much about what the TFT_eSPI can do. It's often at a loss when I get crazy looping " LEDC is not initialized " errors and other odd crashes. And it does even make some logic errors.. but in spite of that it's a HUGE time saver and big help for any novice wannabe programmers like me.
