    maybe my painting environment is super dry but i cannot keep my acrylics wet and workable for any length of time (of course using nothing more than student grade paints). not sure how he does it and has constantly workable acrylic paint

    Can you use this technique when painting with oils?

      Yes, but the drying times can kills the momentum. Give it a go.

    On the first portrait, I like what you had done at 35:00. After that, I think the highlights, especially on the forehead were a bit too garish.
