The source of the great sound is simply the player, master drummer Amadou Kienou of Burkina Faso. (I recorded him on a Samsung Note 3, cellphone. The djembe is made with goatskin, I believe.)
That’s really cool I had a class with Amadou a few times every time his sound amazes me.
