Replacing the lid and top frame cover of the Candy toploader washing machine CST 360L-S at home

After much searching for guides / diagrams and trial and error, this is how you can reassemble the Candy top-loader. Removing these parts allows replacement of the lid (irreparable but replaceable if the front hook breaks, as was our case), the top frame which houses the hinges, the circuit board/control panel, the rubber gasket and a bunch of other items including locks, pressure checkers, etc.
Materials required besides replacement parts: Philips screw driver & flat head (to remove electrical clips) and a towel.
Time: approx 1 hour (now that you know what to do - otherwise count a few days).
