Saw this movie on opening day - and when I got home, I said to my spouse - I give this 4 1/2 stars out of 5. An almost perfect movie. Really enjoyed it - and I want to see it again. For Dylan, people keep looking for the person behind the persona - but that person is a complete unknown - which is exactly what makes this movie work. Everyone wanted to fill in the details of that person with their own ideas - but Dylan was none of that - and often told them he was none of that.
I totally agree. That's why I love the title to this movie. Besides being a song reference it describes the movie so well. You hit the nail on the head with your comment about everyone wanting to fill in the details. Amazing comments! Thank you for watching!
Absolutely 💯 totally agree! Incredible! Except 5 stars! Across the board! Oscar sweep! Just my opinion of a complete unknown from a complete unknown. I am a huge fan of Dylan and went in without knowing anything and unassuming and I am so glad. It’s the first film I’ve seen in a theater in a while and it even got me emotional at times in a most surprising way. Wow. Thank you to everyone in this film for delivering big time.
@@MTownB615 It gave me a lot of chills, and it made me a little emotional too! I can’t wait to own this beautiful movie, and maybe on my second viewing it may get that five star rating. Thank you for your comment, and thank you so much for watching!
I saw it on the 24th :) Dylan is my god, and I love Timothée Chalamet. Walk the Line is one of my favorite movies too. I think this film isn’t particularly strong as a drama or as a biopic, but somehow it does justice to Dylan. Honestly, I didn’t see Dylan-I saw Timmy playing Dylan very well. Maybe that’s how Dylan felt respected. Also, Dylan is demystified because the other characters are just as charismatic. That’s how I see this movie: it’s a film set in a parallel reality. I also cried a lot because this piece brings back the spirit of rock and roll. As soon as the kid sings, we shut up and listen. For me, that’s what music is meant to be. It shows what music is missing today: authenticity, roughness, edginess, freedom, and something messianic. Timothée Chalamet is great at playing a messiah-he should play Jesus
@@dianehuntley149 Yes!! I have a feeling that on my second viewing I’ll give it a five. Watching it once wasn’t enough for a proper review in my opinion. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

There is no drama in the movie other than Dylan was moody and would just drop people and not really restrictive business commitments. So, what is good in the movie is Timothee Chalamet and a few of the supporting actors were fun to watch. The singing and musicianship of the leads was very good. I could tell the difference between the original singers and the actors but the actors were just if not better than the originals. Don't agree that there was a message in the movie that made much impact.
