Got an extra tip for people using the Scythe. When Greg summons his shadows, use Debilitate on him and switch to Soul Split. Then, get in the whole group of shadows and Greg so you can use Cleave, Quake, and Hurricane for a health boost. With 3 shadows hit, you can gain about 1.5k hp back.

When meleeing watch the shadows and his location, he can switch between melee and ranged by teleporting next to/away from you.

I use an augmented scythe with crack3, effi2, ulti2. Full anima core augmented with undead slayer, dragon slayer, and venom blood perks. Deathtouch, bandos boots, AoS, LotD, Illuminated book of law, and brawler. the aoe of the scythe makes the shadows a joke.

great guide man! but one thing im confused on, what prayers should we be using? i see you have the amulet of souls, but i see you are using protect from range the entire time. is there a point we should switch to soul split for the healing? or do you only have the amulet of souls for the stats?
wat? You do know amulet of souls increases the damage reduction on protection prayers/reflect curses to 60%? meaning it is super useful at places where you take a lot of auto attack damage, like greg. not to mention it has BiS stats

What is the point of the soul ammy if you are praying ranged?
Ryan Brantley if im not mistaken the amulet also provided +10% to deflect/protect prayers.
Amulet of souls makes protection prayers 60% effective instead of 50.
how did you show how much drops are after you've killed the monster during the video? is it in game settings?

Died twice to him getting one kill I followed the guide as much as possible the only things I changed were the bow for a zaryte bow the cape for the tokhaar-kal-xil and amulet for saradomins murmur as they are the best I have access to I can't figure out what I was doing wrong he was hitting me frequently for high damage even through my protect from ranged. what did I do wrong?

Lucien Shadowstrider Use devotion right as Greg spawns, and try to use devotion/debilitate always when he does his first special attack since its the only attack that hits really hard. Vamp aura also helps alot.

Why should I use a vampirism aura with range? It seems to have a very low healing cap of 50 HP per hit.
It really adds up throughout the fight and reduces food you need by a ton
not with range, the vampyrish scrimshaw only works with melee attacks

From a cost perspective, they arent worth it, but they're the best in slot item. It's more there just to say they are technically the best but you won't catch me with them at greg

Greg uses ranged as his primary attack style which decimates magic
Why should I use a Noxious longbow over Ascension crossbows?
Nox has more range and when teleporting around in the clones, it will often cancel your rapid fire if your range is too short, but nto with longbow
What Hi said is true about the range, but ultimately it will be fine with ascensions, might just have a little more annoyances than using a nox bow.
Which combat style is easier at killing Greg: range or melee?
thats a tough question to answer with 100% certainty, it really depends on how comfortable you are with both styles and if you know how to dps well or not. I would say range would probably be easier for the newer pvmer generally, but melee would typically be quicker and around the same level of difficulty as ranged for an experienced pvmer. Hope that helps answer your question, but to be honest, it's not as black and white as just saying one is easier than the other.
This guide was really nice upon release but it's incredibly outdated now. I think someone should make an updated guide. Now that t99 curses and t92 weapons exist, you can no food Gregorovic with Pernix or Elite Robin Hood armor by soulsplitting for the entire fight except for the knife toss specs, which you would switch to ranged prayer and devo/debilitate. Using Sirenic at Gregorovic in 2018 is completely wasteful seeing as it costs like 2m an hour to simply use and you're already paying for scrimshaws.
in fairness, the point of my guides is to teach the broadest number of players how to kill the boss. The vast majority of players looking for a Greg guide aren't going to have T92 weapons or T99 prayers. So while you are correct with what you said in this comment, it's not really the biggest target that a video like this is aimed at. I really wouldn't call it "incredibly outdated". And while I do plan to make some new videos/guides on the GWD2 bosses, I think you'd be catering to less than 10% of people looking for a Greg guide on youtube if it was just to include the specific changes you mentioned in this comment
Yes, that makes sense. I didn't really mean to say "incredibly" outdated, but RuneScape is updated constantly. If someone can afford Sirenic armor, which I believe costs about 2m per hour, they can definitely afford elite Robin Hood gear, though. I definitely understand that desolation and SGB are way out of the affordable range for most players, but I haven't tested Greg with anguish and ascensions yet and it should work. I'm not sure about no food or doing enough DPS to use soulsplit, but your PvM guides are the highest quality guides on TH-cam so I hope you or someone makes updated God Wars 2 guides sometime. Especially because Cinderbanes are so overpowered here.
yeah for sure man, I feel you on that. I hadn't really considered updating them until just a few months ago, but since a lot of new useful and affordable things have came out (cinderbanes for example) I've been thinking of updating them for sure over the course of the next month or so. Probably will get around to it before summer
why do you have a sword in your inventory that you never use?
You can use the special on it once every 4-5minutes to heal for free
WHY DOES NO1 EVER USE THE SUP PORTS armour
because Power armor is typically always better
Although it's T85, it gives no combat bonus so it does not increase DPS, which from what I understand is usually the most important thing in bossing

Shouldn't you Resonance when Greg does his knives special attack? 2 of the hits always miss while the 3rd one seems to hit with 100% accuracy.
That is an option, but I personally don't think its worth it as it interrupts your dps and results in slower kills. Typically getting the kill done a few seconds faster will save you more hp overall than getting a resonance in, or atleast equal each other out.

Greg uses ranged. Range kills mage.
Greg has few mechanics that allow you to outplay him and take little to no damage from dodging attacks. Instead, he hits consistently and has a higher sustained damage. Consequentially, the best strategy is to have armour to mitigate his damage while killing him as fast as possible.

.... this is basically just "be end game good" what about the lobies? who get a task from the reaper i mean i get its going to be harder to kill him but damn..
because it's a level 1000 boss, and pretty much only "end game" players can effectively solo it
effective yes i'm not talking spending an hour soloing him i'm talking getting 5-6 kills a trip for a reaper task... but alright
you just use the highest supplies you can lol but greg does shit tons of damage so honestly if you're low level its worth skipping until your stats get a bit higher

how is he hard ? the only hard part is he hits like a truck. but crap easy mechanics. the other bosses also hits like a truck but have hard mechanics
that is what makes him harder than the others. with good mechanic play the other bosses are very easy to do without food or much trouble but even when doing greg perfectly its more of as struggle to not take damage because of the fact that he hits hard

mostly correct, greg is really what I call a "dumb boss" good pvmers and bad pvmers get the same results. you can get clever with a few abilities, but in the end, get ready to spam food, no matter how good you are.
my people true whereas a person in bandos with a dragon lance can solo all other bosses comfortably
