It's so weird to see that there are people who actually don't know Shakira...I don't consider myself a fan of her but I grew up with her music and I loved her music when I was little. Her old music was amazing. She's still amazing, don't get me wrong but I will always love her old music.

She is obviously a legend but sort of past her peak years when she dominated the whole globe with songs like Hips Don't Lie and Waka Waka for the World Cup. Everybody here in Brazil knows of her, she's one of the few Spanish-speaking artists who managed to cross the barrier and get hits here in Brazil too (we all that for whatever reason that usually doesn't happen).

I was about to comment the same thing lol. I'm like, "He's my age, from America as well and he hasn't heard of her? x_X lol ".
Well he lived in Korea for at least the last 5 years as trainee under DSP. And before that, he probably heard a lot of kpop. Otherwise he wouldn't have got the idea of going to another country to start a music career.
But then again I'm also his age an I know shakira since elementary school O.o
I think he would have known her if her vdeo started with "shakira shakira". i guess thats why he lost her. thats how he said he would identify her in the past
I have always known about her and we are the same age (but im half spanish). What I realized was that even though she was huge after whenever song and released songs in english. Only people who love this style of music really knew her. Her song "hips don't lie" also became extremely popular too but I think after the Voice people who dont listen to latin music learned about her more...just what i think

And if you guys don't know, there was a group who tried to release a kpop song that was infused with reggaeton just a few short years back, they were called Wonderboyz and the song was "Tarzan," please look it up and give it a listen : ) they also were the original artists of "Open The Door," but it was Lim Chang Jung's cover that went viral... anyway I'd love KARD to take a crack at a k-reggaeton track! I think that could be huge!
