    GORC, the organization that handles all the eastern mo/ St. Louis area trails has the opposite policy: DH RIDERS YEILD TO CLIMBERS. It’s harder to stop climbing and gain your groove back when going uphill for awhile, it’s easy to stop and start again when gravity is assisting you. This is just common courtesy, and it’s enforced on all multi directional trails here.
    Sending downhill is reserved for BIKE only DH ONLY trails, which you can fly down without worrying about hitting a hiker or another biker climbing up. Of course then you need a one way return trail as well.

    So why can't the down hiller ride the edge and go around the guy going up hill. Because that person is using more engery going up hill and looses there momentum going up especially over a technical section. Because I'll be the first to say I'm not moving for a down hiller . Lol
