Agree toe area hasn’t been wide enough. Huge issue for many ultra runners brooks isn’t accommodating. Nike actually done way better acknowledging ultra runners need wide toe box.
My Catamount 3's have arrived and I did a first 13.5k (9mile) run today. Here, my first impression. It is a fast trail shoe. I was running mainly on hard pack with some muddy parts. The small part on the street went really well, too. I felt an urge to run fast from step one and kept the pace for the whole run. I was 20s/k faster than on the same run with my Speedgoat 5 two days ago. It is by far not as cushioned as the Speedgoat, I am not sure about runs above the 21k distance ( I am 85kg / 187 pounds). As I am planning to use it for the faster runs, I have no complaints. Build quality is very good on first impression. The plate makes it very stable, I would imagine that they perform well on more technical trails. I look forward to running many more miles with the Catamount in the next months. It is a fun shoe ;-)
I have 350km in the Caldera 7s and I have a wide foot, most shoes give me massive issues. I am coming off an E width Speedgoat 5 but didn't love their durability. I bought these in an 11, true to size would be 10.5 and I don't have any issues with them at all.
I like the yellow and mint green a lot with the black. Not a big grey dude, but the greys on the Caldera 7 are acceptable with this colorway. Hearing mixed things on if it's wide or not. Stuck between this and the Nike Zegama 2. Nike says Zegama 2 is wider but I'm hearing mixed thing om both these Caldera 7 and Zegama 2. Seems like a lot of trail shoes are more narrow. Hoka is more narrow as well on many of their shoes and apparently so is the new Speedgoat 6, but the Mafate Speed 4 looks kinda nice. Like I siad, Caldera 7 or Zegama 2...
I found the Caldera 6 on sale and bought. The toe box is so narrow it's nothing more than a blister maker. Ran a 20 mile training run and a 25k 3 weeks later. It won't be used again. Hopefully the toe box is widened out for the 7....
I dont like the lacing loops the way as you pull your laces from the bottom up, they did it on the 5 also so i didnt get the 6 and now the 7 , but i had the 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 was my least favorite, i was wearing calderas when most people werent but i hope the lacing loops change im stoked about the cushion but i will wait and color change or if they go back to the camo bluish that i had in the caldera 3
Brooks dude really knows his stuff. Very well-prepared.
Hopefully wide models for the speed shoes! Wide footers have no option for trail racing :(
Loved the Catamount 2, used from 5k parkrun to 100km ultras. Just wish it had a wider toe box. May have to try the Caldera next.
Caldera would be an instant buy if you offered it in a wide like the Cascadia

It's weird they offer a wide in most of their road offerings but none of their trail shoes besides cascadia
Brooks Trail bringing the heat! Looking forward to seeing UTMB success from the team!

Brooks.....!!!! Run happy!!!!. Like from Spain.
What would you recommend for mainly grass with some light gravel spots? I have cascadia 17 gtx and feel like they are a tad to stuff for me.
line up looks great, unfortunately brooks runs narrow for me, I would love to give some of these a shot. 🙁
Please give us some toned-down colors without all the crazy neons and stuff. At least a couple options.
Word
Bro. Brooks has some of the most boring colors out there. There’s plenty of options for you, grandpa.
@@mcs68419 whoa there little grasshopper. Don't let yer britches get to big for ya.
Never consider brooks for trail. Might have a look when these are release, especially the catamount agil
There is a ton of room in the toe box of the 7, almost too much for a non wide foot. Feels good and room for swelling.
Caldera 7 is legit folks.
Hows the toe box with the Caldera 7

Can caldera 7 used for road rum??

Yup, half sized up and still rubbed. It killed an otherwise stellar ride.
What about the Cascadia GTX 18???
Hey BITR did Merrell have a booth?
Yes! Video is up now
What watch is that? 😊

I SO wish the top had an eyelet instead of a ghillie strap.
Good point, Caldera 7, narrow toe box just by looking at it. 👍
Jeeps are solid axles not IFS 🤓
That Divide is one hideous shoe 😆😆😆
Extremely ugly shoes. Brooks always mix horrible colors together. Hard pass
Yeah, It’s like they spin a random color wheel
