    This new series in a more casual format is a marvelous addition to the formal lectures!

    I'm an artist who is drawn to beauty as you two describe it, and I appreciate the connections with religion and Christianity even though I don't believe it personally. I want so badly to dedicate my life to it and help the world rediscover it, regardless of faith. Even hearing your conversation nearly brought me to tears as it reminded me what I want to live for. However, I have to do more "worldly" work first. I try to study on my own time, but my long journey is still not over yet. Will I ever get there? Gosh, I hope so.

    It so refreshing to have such an intellectual and philosophical discussion on beauty in music, poetry, literature, etc., from a Catholic perspective. Thank you Fr. Pine and Dr. Corbett.

    Dr. George, you are a quite an awesome philosopher and theologian. Please consider starting your own TH-cam channel. You seem to me to be on the intellectual level of Jordan Peterson...if not greater, due to your maturity in Christian thought/theology. It would be great if you could make your ideas more accessible to the wider public by sharing them here on TH-cam. You definitely have great talent for communicating the highest theological and philosophical perspectives and ideas...so it would be very charitable for you to start a TH-cam channel so more people might have access to your excellent and holy ideas. Best to you always.

    If beauty is some evidence of the existence of God, then is ugliness some evidence against the existence of God?

    • @sarahburke8955
      @sarahburke8955 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that ugliness is evidence of the existence of evil.

      @@sarahburke8955 So ugliness is evidence of evil? Evil meaning the lack of God? Isn't that the same as the non-existence of God?

    This is a genius idea, if you ask me . But then again, I'm not schooled in genius

    Whatever happened to aesthetics ☹️ beauty is totally objective I believe though the viewer cannot always see it. It is in everything. Certainly not in evil, but evil is not a thing, but lack of total thingness. My two cents.

    Why do you think it’s valuable to enter into an atheist view of the world? It seems to me that is something that should be avoided, unless you are trying to be an evangelist who needs to understand where the person is coming from. Isn’t our whole culture functionally atheist? And aren’t we constantly bombarded with it? Might it not be best to turn away from it?
