I have a 2015 volvo with this style gear selector. i want to install the version thats in the 2016 volvos where its below the radio. would i have to move the harness from around the driver seat into the center dash console or is there a plug already inside?

Out of curiosity If you change the gear selector for the new one that can change selector manually. My question is. Is it just plug and play? Or do you have to update the computer or any other program? Hope it make sense.
but I would install it and try the buttons of they work. of not you will need to hook up computer and activate the parameter. but if you don't have the parameter available the dealer needs to contact volvo and they will give them a accessory kit number once that is programed it will work.
I have problem with lower gear - ,but my gear selector is older model ,2007 year ,and i cute line from gear selector to butons + - ,because it is not same .now i have problem.

What would be the symptoms for having to do this? When I put it in drive or reverse it doesn't do nothing
Can you switch out the fleet version for the premium one? Will you have to reprogram the truck? Thank you
You can. And ya truck will need to be programmed. To see the +/- buttons

My gear just stopped working, and there is no light. 2007 volvo vnl, had to get it towed. F code on the dash, my shifter does not look the same though

short answer yes needs to be programmed if truck did not come with it from factory
