    I am buying a 2011 Impreza hatchback tomorrow it has 135000 miles. I test drove it and it felt tight, smooth and handled well.

    good mix of feedback provided. We have 2 Subies in our family (2010 Forester - Manual, 2016 WRX - Manual). I used to have a 2016 Crosstrek and it was CVT. I wasn't a fan of the delay on acceleration. That really bothered me. The bluetooth issue is really a common complaint with these as well. Thanks for sharing.

      The CVT just takes some getting used to. Ive had a Legacy and an Outback with CVT, they work better if you gradually build up the speed then when matched with engine they can fly after that. Toyota ECVT is the best, shame Subaru cant use that.

    My 2019 white Impreza Touring 5-dr hatch is DEAD quiet. Super quiet. And fun to drive. Quick. Reliable to date and amazing in the snow

    Thanks for your thoughts! Yeah Subarus are Very noisy inside, specialy over 60 mph. But you can try to change those wheel bearings. My 13’ Impreza had 80k miles when i bought it and it was a lil noisy inside. I changed the bearings and it was a lot quiter then. Now i can talk normally on speaker-phone etc.

      I have a 2015 Impreza in the UK. Has 31000 miles on the clock, 1 previous owner and full history. Its quiet and relaxing inside at motorway speeds. Not sure why you think they are noisy. No wind noise, very little road noise and the engine just whirs away under the bonnet. Great car.

    I love my 2021 Impreza. Only thing I don’t like is the low ground clearance. I was scraping on snow and ice. Solved that by getting a 1” lift kit and bigger tires. Got 2” more than stock now.
    I also don’t see the issue with CVTs. Haven’t found anything I dislike about it.

    CVT ? They're fine. Just don't stress the car. Its really relaxing to drive.

      I had an Outback with CVT and I loved it. The thing with CVTs is you dont get the best out of them if you floor it. Starting off, build up the speed slowly then gradually increase pressure on the accelerator until the transmission and engine become matched and then they start to fly.

    Might be buying a base model 2013 manual hatch tomorrow. Its got the same milage as this one and is selling for 6k Canadian which seems too good to be true honestly. Hopefully its all good.

    Engine braking does not consume more fuel. It actually uses less fuel than regular braking would. The engine does not consume any fuel when going down a hill if the throttle is closed

    • @KurtofTrades
      @KurtofTrades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I more meant having to brake in some way, when I go down small hills o don’t want the engine to slow me down at all I want to use the gain in speed I get so I don’t have to accelerate more. For mountains it doesn’t matter since they are too big to coast all the way down you would go waaaay to fast,

    Im buying a 2015 tomorrow which i think is pretty similar to yours. The brakes seemed a little soft to the touch if that makes sense. They put it through inspection and said the brakes were practically new. Maybe im just more used to my 2013 malibu brakes?

    Put money down on a 2016 5dr 5 speed Impreza today. Im hoping to keep it a very long time

    • @oddities-whatnot
      @oddities-whatnot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 2015 Impreza 5 speed in the UK. I have had it a year, love it. Solid reliable workhorse. Low miles so hope to keep it a long time. I get about 45mpg on a run, cant argue with that. The point is, I could get a new Toyota Hybrid to save on fuel but then the car would cost me twice as much to buy so I wouldn't save anything. The car should physically last me many years, I like a lot of cars out there but you waste your money keep changing them. I always think its best to get one good car that suits you, and just keep it.

    How about speed, is it quick, does it have sport mode

    • @KurtofTrades
      @KurtofTrades  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No sport mode. There is a manual mode for the cvt and if you don’t shift it shifts on it’s own and it’s pretty aggressive. It’s definitely not fast but I don’t think it’s slow either. I mean it’s only got 150 hp. It handles well

    Looking at a 2013 Impreza 2.0. Have you had any oil burning issues? I’ve read the 2012-2013 had some issues

    • @KurtofTrades
      @KurtofTrades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it’s fairly common, a lot of them were fixed under warranty. Mine burns about a quart every 2000 miles which isn’t too bad. Most are around a quart every 3500-5000.
