- Part 7 of my playthrough of GTA Vice City. On this part Tommy helps Phil Cassidy with his gunrunning business and helps Colonel Cortez escape Vice City.

It's funnier when you realize that Phil cassidy pretty much lied to claude and everyone in GTA 3,because he didn't want to be embarrassed if people knew he really lost his arm to being drunk,instead of war
no hes not embarrassed, because remember he hallucinates and thinks hes in a war so he doesnt even remember what happened because he was drunk.

@Claude Speed yes initially in GTA 3, Phil was written as an actual war veteran that lost his arm in battle. He mentions fighting in Nicaragua to Claude. His background was retconned in Vice City and VCS as basically a stolen valor that sells guns and did prison time. Mitch Baker mentions he doubts Cassidy actually served in the military but was a sharp shooter nonetheless.
I love how Professional besides explaining his thought on the GTA lore, he also gives interesting history tidbits like the Viet Cong part.
Thats what i love most about his playthroughs. You get to watch good gameplay, get to know more about the lore and then you can get bonus history lessons!
I think He'd have known about Tommy being from liberty city (they don't know how to swim)

Fun Fact: in the Pole Position Club there is a room and a cutscene and there is a girl Stella who dance's for Tommy That's the Cover Girl of Vice City and her Twin Sister Bella is the Bar Keeper in the Malibu Club.

Another fun fact if you attack anyone inside or go behind the bar before purchasing the club, the bartender will pull out a shotgun and start blasting

Fun Fact: The "Mr. Vercetti" outfit is similar to Tony Montana's suit from Scarface. Although I think it's partially a reference to Miami Vice from the pinstripes.
Tubbs is rocking that suit in Miami Vice my favorite outfit of his in the series.

I remembered how shocked and traumatized I was to see Phil’s arm come off when I played this as a kid.
Me too! When he started halucinating I was like "please, I wanna finish this, I wanna finish this..."

Weird that they had the rights for Burnin For You by Blue Oyster Cult during Boomshine Saigon but didn't put it on V-Rock or any other radio station. Hell of a song that I'd have loved to have had on the radio.

We clearly see how Phil Cassidy loses his right arm in a cutscene, but after we take him to an ex-army surgeon - he gets out of the car, grows his right arm back, and loses his left arm. *MAGIC! :)*

I would know how Phil react to Vic's Death he most think that Tommy reminds him of Vic.
Well this came out b4 rockstar made VCS and had no idea of how popular it would make Vic. I do wish that they could have gone back in vice city and re do some stuff b/c Lance met Phil and Umberto in VCS and it would have been better and a nice send off to Vic if Lance pointed Tommy in Umberto and Phil’s directions but as I said b4 this came out b4 VCS and Rockstar probably didn’t know who else besides Lance to bring back from vice city so Phil and Umberto and Diaz were the best choices
Gary Busey was the best choice to voice Phil. Dudes a looney and hilarious.

Boomshine saigon is one of my favorite missions. So many funny lines in that mission "Charlie in the tree line!" and Phil just casually walking to the doctor while his arm socket is bleeding profusely😂
Just found out Juan Cortez is voiced by Robert Davi, who also played Franz Sanchez in License to Kill

This Hunter from Cornel Cortez Mission who attack them reminds me also of From Zero to Hero (VCS) even tho Vice City did it first.
Skipping the scene with the Twins from artwork of this game. This is probably one of few GTA games were you can meet a character from a cover artwork.

Fun fact: the Mini-14 is semi auto only in real life. I like to think Tommy is just pulling the trigger real fast if the fire rate is any indication.
There's always the possibility that this Mini-14 has been (illegally) modified to be fully automatic.
@@chrisphelps4552 it wouldn't be illegal since the GTA Universe doesn't have gun control laws. Not strict ones anyway.
@SAUCE GOD GTA 4 is odd because it's outright stated that firearm possession in Liberty City is illegal, but the police don't bat an eye when someone walks by carrying an RPG, M4 Carbine, and Glock 19 handgun. Rockstar Logic, I guess.

@@PewPewBeets guns are banned in GTA IV state wide. The radio stations talk about it a bit and why do you think the gun stores are underground type shops
Hey Pro! In 11:54 it's not only Jethro that is from San Andreas, the other one is Dwaine! Also, amazing part as always, love watching your videos :).
Also it’s really interesting how both Gonzales and Cortez needed to leave the city due to them being hunted. Interestingly they flee in different transportation methods, and the protagonist is rewarded nicely.
That and Cortez is still alive probably unlike Gonzales who was savagely murdered w/ a chain saw by Tommy.

@@toshinoriyagi1887 Gonzales’ greed caused his downfall. He betrayed one person too many. The worst part is that he sold out Vic who saved his life, like you said.
Although Cortez would get tried later on in his country of his after the events of Vice City. Probably a military invasion by an outsider nation. That’s it. But he doesn’t end up similar to Gonzalez. Maybe Tommy Vercetti does date Mercedes or something like that. Probably the coke addiction that Ken got and Tommy’s love for mercedes is why Ken and Tommy had a fall out.
One thing I always loved about vice city was that as you progressed through the game but in the vercetti estate and the starting safe house is the different things that get unlocked through the business

You can actually make almost any bike crazy fast if you spam up on the left stick. Kinda looks like Tommy is twerking on the bike but hey, he go fast.
Those black Washingtons used by the french secret service are actually "Unique" variants. There's no way to aquire those I think.
Yes there is you have to go to the bottom of the yacht and kill one of the drivers of the boats and you have to hope that the boat crashes into the yacht then you spam the enter vehicle button and you should teleport into the boats driver seat and then you go back to the marina and hop to shore and the Washington will be there still. You can’t enter it so you have to push it to the nearest safe house garage which is the apartment down the road from the pole position club
There are talks of them remastering GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas.

@@MegaBadgeman There is. To get it safely, grab the cop uniform in washington beach and go in and grab it. The other tower has body armor.

phill loses his right arm in the explosion cutscene but has his left arm off during gameplay and previous appearances
Pro the Mac-10 isn't that bad it's really good since it's got a high rate of fire and you can jog freely while shooting
if press the shoot button 2 times and hold it the gun shoots faster
In GTA 3, maybe the real war at Nicaragua was the friend Phil Cassidy made along the way.

You should consider doing a playthrough of Sleeping Dogs when you finish all of the old GTA games

The Kruger, it's a French assassin's worst nightmare. I also think that the "Scarface: The World is Yours" game mission that takes place on Nacho's Tanker reminds me of 'All Hands on Deck!'.
With a series like this, they had to retcon some stuff. I feel like Phil was actually supposed to be a Vietnam vet, but they came up with a creative way to both expand his character (he's not a vet, but rather he lies a lot, and probably fantasizes about being a soldier) and also show a piece of GTA history with his arm actually getting blown off during a mission. I think it was a great decision, and I think it shows that revising a character can actually be done tastefully, and it does completely change the way you see his character in GTA 3.

Boy, TheProfessional made quick work of 'Gun Runner'; turns out there wasn't much running at all.
I only purchase the Pole Position Club to give the exotic dancers a good home (I wouldn't do it to be demonetized though, since I'm already a demon; kinda redundant for me).
Good stuff from TheProfessional about Vietnam, the phrase "Charlie", the traps, and Ho Chi Minh (referenced in the Jack Howitzer radio skit with the Ho Chi character in the Vice City Stories game).

Professional, I don't understand why you don't do Kent Paul and Love Fist band missions, the Umberto missions and Colonel Cortez missions. I genuinely believe they are a part of the storyline. Because it makes sense

In some European countries, the blood from Phil's arm was actually removed because they were afraid of the effect it would have on kids. In Grand Theft Auto 3, you couldn't hit NPC's when they were on down for the same reason which made some missions almost impossible all because of GTA censorship...smh

The mp5 does more damage, but with the mac 10 you have better mobility and a faster fire rate.

i got that biggest issue about phil (gary busey my favorite old school actor from predator 2) after he lost his i went like "UGHHHH YOU FUCKING IDIOT!! I TOLD YOU NOT TO MESS AROUND WITH EXPLOSIVES!" 7:51 i was gonna plan on leaving him bleed to death but no..i had to drag his stupid ass to the hospital but no he wanted to walk over to side of the street while his arm is bleeding internal no ex soldier can make it all that. i was so furious at him.
I think for me the Mexican gun runners are the same Mexican people are in vice city story And the only reason why they're not driving muscle cars is cause of Vic vans Since he took over the business they had no more money So they had to buy beat up trucks And mopeds

The Veit Cong were a militant group that had sympathy for North Vietnam. But like the North Vietnamese Army they were supplied heavily by the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union. Even though they had weapons like the AK-47 some of their weapons were from the Second World War things like MP 40s and PPSH submachine guns even some M3 Grease Guns. The eventually failure of South Vietnam in 1975 led the CIA and the US government to aide the rebel fighters in Afghanistan during the Soviet Invasion in the 80s. Which in no way came to bite the United States in the ass 2 or 3 decades later.
