Great buy on that wagon and your getting it fixed back up nice! On those inside seams that have holes jb weld as mentioned for small hole or two or auto body filler called bondo works great! Those wheels on your grinder are called flap wheels come in different grits, those chickens were sure enjoying that bucket of 🌽 have a good weekend!👋
You are a true farmer Ryan! Farmers not only plant and grow livestock they are plumbers carpenters and construction workers all in one and you are showing us all you possess all the proper talents to survive in todays farming world!
Love your old gravity wagon Ryan. Its a good project to develop your skills and learn from. As you know even as a young farmer that your really a mechanic, welder, fitter, carpenter, plumber, electrician, animal vet, accountant, secretary and chief cook and bottle washer 🙂and only after that are you a farmer. Thanks for another fine video.
Outstanding job on your gravity wagon! Can't wait to see the "part two" video with it all paint-sealed. That'll sure help with rust issues and you'll get many years out of it, once that is done. Love your channel. Keep up the great work!
@@teenagefarmer It'll turn out great. Like you said when you was repairing the inside and roof, it doesn't have to be pretty. It'll be protected better. That work you did was a wise investment. Your wagon looks stout!
Hi Ryan. I've used a wire wheel on my grinder to clean up truck frames so I bet they would work well for that. If you don't have a welder to fix the holes you can use jb weld and it will last longer than the caulking.
Looks good! Keep it up, hard work pays off! We’re in Pa & just starting our “farm” journey& channel, got a long way to go yet bc we haven’t moved to the property yet and can only get there on the wkends ( corporate job problems 🙄 lol) But your videos help give us some ideas so thank you for sharing.
That's cool. I haven't been able to watch very many of your videos. I'm guessing you are going to be raising live stock if so what are you planning on raising?
If you know a mobile welder, I would suggest installing new "corner straps"(don't know what else to call them, just the pieces of steel that are on the joints of the panels) on the outside of the box. Fill the holes on the inside with high build primer, sand and paint. If you don't know a welder, you could use jb weld as a body filler(I would have a healty amountof overlap on good steel), then prime and paint. I would suggest taking a welding course, you could make it a little side business opportunity later on if you like. I like the roof idea.
I think I am going to try JB weld. I think I will be taking a welder course sometime done the road and hopefully have a welder to. thanks for the great idea and thanks for watching.
Great video Ryan I can't wait to see when it's finished. Jake from Mt Hope Meadows likes working on old equipment, but i don't think he's worked on anything as big as that.
Hey 👋 Ryan, idk if you already have one but at some point you might need to get yourself a welder, then when you find holes in say, the bottom of your gravity feeder you could just weld a piece of sheet metal over it. What you did is fine to. I know you probably have Harbor Freight around there, they have decent welders for cheap. I know you're going to have that thing lookin brand new when you're done with it😄👍I'm ready for part 2 my friend!!! You're doing GREAT buddy, keep it up! Jay.
Yes Jay, a welder is something I can see myself getting in the future I think it would be super helpful to know how to weld. Hopefully soon. Thanks for watching and have a nice night.
if u don't have a welder to fix the hole u can use angle iron to cover the hole, drill bolt size holes in angle iron first then mark where to drill holes on your gravity box. or something else i can try is melting some lead and pouring the melted lead along the edges, block off 1 inch below where the hole is and cover the one side with thin tin to stop the lead from leaking out. u can get free lead from old batteries or the side of wheels that were once balanced, u could have some on rims on that wagon and not even know. we my twin brother and me learned alot from great grand father, grand father and Dad but we buried them all in 2020
I hadn't thought about using lead that's something I might try. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for your loss again. Thanks for watching have a great weekend.
It's good to see your generation interested in farming keep up the good work.
Thanks.

Thanks. I am definitely going to try JB weld. I can't believe that I didn't think about using it. Thanks for watching. You have a great weekend too.

Yep. You got to know how to get stuff done when you live on a farm.
Great job Ryan! Nice operational gravity wagon. Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks for watching.

That's a great idea to use JB weld. I didn't think about using that. I will probably try that. Thanks for the idea and thanks for watching.
Looks like a job well done! Looking forward to part two!
Thanks
Great work looks like it will work out great for you. It's so nice to have plenty of feed on hand it's just no fun paying for it lol 😂
Thanks. Yes it's nice to not have to worry about it. But the price now a days is pretty high.

We have a hole in one of our wagons. We put gorilla tape on it to get by until we can get it fixed. Keep up the good work!
That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed watching your video 📸
Thanks
Definitely paint it.
yes, I'm going to. thanks for watching.
Use some jb weld for those small metal holes
Yes, I can't believe I didn't think of that. I had someone else mentioned that. Thanks. Have a good day.
