It's so underpowered though. You should look into getting a Singer 609 shoehorned into it! Top speed isn't too bad but that thing needs a LOT mroe 'git' off the line. the engine struggles so hard to pull it out of the hole. Can't do a proper standing wheelie and what monster truck can't wheelie?!

Some motors Powerband It’s different it’s not even like they have a power band he is hitting power band when it’s full throttle it’s just not that much of a difference it is burning up all that oil it’s just not working like everyone thinks it should
The motor is from One of those Chinese pocket bikes 49cc If you ever ridden one when it hits its power band it wants to pull a Willy with you on it I’m 160lbs The motor looks like it has a head kit and a pipe already on it
Hell put it next to an HPI Baja 5b.... I've got one of those with a 29cc Zenoah and DDM pipe... It's definitely much faster than this... But it weighs maybe 30-35 lbs tops, not 80 lbs and isn't 4x4.
I had a pocket bike with that same type of engine man. That engine already has a huge aftermarket, you just got to look in the 49cc pocket bike stuff. I ported my engine cases and put an 80cc big bore kit on my motor and that thing was scary fast. Better yet, it was a fully built motor for only a little over $100!

From the manual: 10. If you are running the truck for the first time, engine break-in is recommended. The engine break-in process alternates heating and cooling the engine to allow all parts of engine to properly seat themselves. It also allows 2-stroke oil from the incoming fuel to coat the interior parts of the engine. Run the engine at varying speeds for periods of 3 to 10 minutes at a time. During this break-in process, never go full throttle. Try to stay below half throttle. Always let the engine idle for 30 seconds before turning it off. Allow the engine to cool off for 10 minutes before starting it again. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times (3 or 4 full heat cycles).
I suggest you follow it. They are covering themselves is all. Talk to any small engine builder like TMR performance making modded engines for this truck and I would bet he would agree with me.

Saw them when they showed it down at Dennis Anderson's Digger's Dungeon. You guys didn't waste any time jumping it. good show. Now I'll go back and watch the assembly...I admit...I jumped right to the run footage after hearing about customs and shouting out RC Tanks and Trucks.

that thing is amazing and at $3000 , it isn't really that bad, damn i have alittle over 3g into my axial bomber for god's sake. I'm pretty sure i NEED one of these;)
That is one sweet monster truck! You definitely need to set up a monster truck course with either old 1/10 or 1/8 scale bodies. And as for break-in, as long as you run a good quality mineral 2cycle oil and don't over lean it, it'll be fine. Chainsaws, weedeaters, and blowers etc.. are run full bore right out of the box and it doesn't hurt them. And the speed? It's a monster truck, it's for torque and power, not speed.

You should park it next to, and then drive over a Traxxas Slash as most RC people know how big those are. Plus, car crush in a monster truck...

it sounds like it doesnt rev all the way, i think the choke is on, minimotos have the same engine and it should rev much higher.
