The Schroeder progresses in difficulty faster compared to the Dotzauers. I recommend the dotzauer book 1 instead. But I do teach with the Schroeder because it chooses the easier dotzauer etudes in the beginning. I do think the dotzauer does an excellent job of narrowing down various techniques on the cello from staccato, slurs and more. I would also love to hear his input.
