Correct! My jaw dropped a couple of years ago, when my uncle who was almost 70 passed away, and my parents were like "Oh he went away too soon." Especially because the same people in their mid-to-late 30s used to call a person in their 40s "one foot already in the grave." Since when did 70s become the new 40s?

I was just thinking about this today. The worst thing is that due to job instability and an overall chaotic environment worldwide, people in their 30s and 40s aren't able to fully let go of these Baby Boomer parents (born between 1946-1964), just in case they need their help for any reason. Also, Boomers' life span has increased by 20-30 years on the average, therefore there seems to be no respite in sight for Millennials, whereby they can peacefully close this chapter in their lives and move on.
There was no boomer generation in India. Boomers are post ww2 US citizens who got plenty of high paying jobs with assured pension even in the private sector. Average Indian people of that time used to skip a meal to save money - which would be used for their child's education or to build a home.
