Beltway Football podcast talks RFK Stadium, Commanders roster overhaul and one thing to watch for each Washington draft pick at the upcoming rookie minicamp
I’ve got the Skins landing at both leading sites, RFK and across from MGM Casino at National Harbor. After hearing this I’ve switch my projected facilities to RFK housing the monument-style stadium with the practice facility, offices and Hall of Fame at National Harbor. I initially had the stadium at NH because of the size of the larger site but it makes sense that extra space is better suited to non-game day facilities and tourists.
I can play this game, but mine aren't necessarily minicamp observations, just things I'd be curious about for each draft pick. Daniels - I want to see the legendary work ethic. I want to see him blow everyone's expectations out of the water with how much he already knows about the offense after 2 weeks of having the thing in his hands. Newton - I just want to see him moving quick, especially laterally. The Jones fracture was a big part of why he fell I think, and I know he did pro day stuff, but I want to see repeated practices without him showing ill effects. Sainristil - I want to see how he matches up against size in the slot. The guys alluded to it - the Big Slot is en vogue in the NFL. If Mikey can only play against small to mid-sized WRs, opposing teams can bench him by using big slots. Sinnott - Not really a minicamp thing, but I want to see how he does when lined up at Y. He's interesting as an H-back, but I want to know if he can be a good Y when Ertz is gone. Coleman - I don't know that I have a specific, but I want to see how quickly he can get on the field. He's a nice developmental player, but how much Cornelius Lucas are we looking at here? McAffrey - I want to see how well he gets off press. It's fine for him to struggle and be slot-only for now, but 2 and 3 years from now, I want him playing more than just slot. He needs to develop a plan vs press. Magee - Magee's a developmental guy, I just want him to be a demon on special teams for now. Hampton - To some extent, same as Magee, but I have serious doubts about Hampton in coverage. I'd be curious if there's more there than I think there is. Jean-Baptiste - I mean...we all know he's going to practice squad, right?
Frame is about natural weight distribution and bone density. 2 ppl can be the same size but shaped differently. You look at the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles. It tells you if a person is naturally that size, or if they had to bulk up or slim down to get there. Goes into how that person needs to diet and train and how hard they will have to work.
@@JPFinlayDC we don't know what Batiste will be. Some guys are ok in college, then when they get to the pros, with the right coach and scheme, turn into monsters. On the other hand, some guys are monsters in college, then get to the pros and disappear, Chasing a dream. I was speaking specifically about your concern about his size/frame. Honestly, I had questions about a couple of Peters' selections until I watched film and interviews with these guys. I once again have confidence in this front office. Can't wait 'til September!
Before we open a hall of fame and a new stadium we should erase any trace of Snyder, @jon.oliver you couldn’t be more wrong, @petesmonkeytrousers, they actually have good football people taking care of the bigger fish
@@Jon.Oliver you couldn’t be more wrong, super happy with the direction, they just need to get that name out before the open a hall of fame and a new stadium, but I think they know that
The only problem is the houses around it. They didn't even want the American Le Manns Series. But honestly how can't bread those pockets to make it happen. But that's old D.c. history.
You guys talked about the wrong UFA RB. That dude has no juice. You would have been better talking about the Arizon RB. He looks more like Eckeler. He has a better chance to make the team. That other dude, all his TD's came from 9 yards or closer.
Bring the stadium back to the RFK site to awaken the old Redskin gods... We will return to glory!!! NVa is a sleepy town that dont deserve excitement.... Va police is too conservative for some of us😢
I'm sick of name change discussions! Let it go! If you don't like the name then leave!..I hate the ping pong table! Theyd lose and do and interview in the locker room and you'd hear it in the background! Focus on football especially if you lose..F ping pong

32:04 BIG ALOHA VIBES for the burgundy and gold ! Thank you JP 🤙
great job guys. cant wait for the season
Look at Brandon Coleman 2022 tape when he played exclusively at LT
JP, Montez Sweat is 6'6" 262, and he did ok when he was here, so I wouldn't worry too much about Batiste's frame.

@@certifiedyaminspector-dadd6224and Jayden has a tiny frame all around. Those shoulders are narrow and he has thin wrist
that's true, but sweat's production was significantly higher

Another unsatisfied fan smh
They have bigger fish to fry before that's even a thing.

Since when 6’5 260 is small? JP you’re 5’8 220 what are we talking about here sir.
WHATS UP WITH FULL METAL JACKET
HEY YO 😂😂😂😂
Rivers F minus every year anyway, and they still charge us 5 cents a bag in DC
If you do your fist together it would be fireworks
ha seriously?
We needed like 85% roster turnover from Ron's regime. He was a horrible GM

No space for restaurants, eateries, pubs, shopping, offices and condos.
Bet you these Fers don’t live anywhere near where they are talking about. VA stadium? Only if it doesn’t severely drag VA down
IMO most of Ron’s guys are gone honestly.
