CA 1st gen M249 owner. And yes I shredded a piston a game until I just swapped the gears and piston to match, lowered the ROF (because it doesn't need to be a buzz saw to keep people down). And it's only recently had issues after falling of a ledge with me attached
@@parkih yeh just googled something along the lines of integrated bearing gears and found a few different sets but only really seemed to be in America. I would worry about longevity of the bearings but that would probably only be an issue on some cheap copies etc
Would love to see you do a video on the POS A&K box mag. The one that came with my 249 was 100% dead straight out of the box. No clicking, or winding, no matter what I do to it.
Saw AoE that bad in a CA G36 ages ago because they had pathetically thin piston heads when they had yellow pistons. ICS M4s also suffer from needing about 5mm of adjustment if you use any aftermarket piston and something like an Area1000 piston head or Lonex.
Soooo out of curiosity how much would something like this cost? I have a mk43 and it runs like shit currently. Got the bullgear hop on the way but no clue if that'll fix it all, gun barely feeds, cant get a game out of it without it jamming
Kipz well my thought is that the bearings on the gear are a little bigger than bushing bearings as they are not contricted by space so they should be fine

I'm guessing these are the ZCI Advanced Gears? would the 13:1 be ok to use with a ZCI High Torque motor on a M110/M115 spring? Trying to get a quicker and quieter (Got an ARP9) Semi and don't want to get them and they get chewed up or the bearings explode. If not or if you know of any reason to not get the gears or the motor over a different product what would you recomend? Thanks.

I love the A&K mk46 and the mk43 .they are dog shit out the box but respond brilliantly to some new parts properly fitted . The bull gear hop units are a must in my opinion but you can make the standard hops work reasonable . I run my mk43 and my mk46 with predator style backpacks at 30+ RPS , it's completely unnecessary and you burn through a ton of ammo but it's brilliant fun and a proper force multiplyor used properly . Brilliant work as per mate ,those gears are amazingly quite ,I'll try some on my next build for sure . Keep up the good work I've got fuck all better to do at the moment than to watch you 😀👍
So you said it needed an aoe adjustment, but you didn't show how you fixed it. Did you use a washer as a shim between the piston and piston head, or did you use sorbo on the cylinder head?
Yep I own a CA MK46 and first 20 shots on an 11.1 grenaded the piston... Not just shredded. I mean the piston split in like 4 pieces. Corrected AOE with a faucet washer, shimmed, and fixed air seal, been shooting like a dream for 6 months
Florian Gravouil - just check 6:40 on - he skimmed the piston gear to match the rotary gear ( at least that’s how I saw/heard it). Restez en sécurité et recherchez la libération
He fitted a pad onto the back of the cylinder head to bring the resting position of the piston back to approximately the 12 o'clock mark . You can use sorbothane pads or what I prefer is rubber 3/4 tap washer . Get an old cylinder and grind one end so it's sharp and use it like a punch to re size the tap washer .
Do you have pictures of the spring/pin system of the m249 para stock, I bought a used one that is missing bits and the end cap slides right off. Any help would be great.

My first one is: I bought an A&K M249 para because the MK46 was out of stock from my regular online retailer and I was wondering if it is possible to put an A&K Mk46 stock on the M249 Para. Same with the lower rail handguard. I'm wondering if these parts are interchangeable. Second: What type of battery would be recommended for a stock A&K M249. I heard people say that you should use a Ni-Mh because a LiPo would burn out the trigger contacts faster. Thank you.
thats correct on the nimh bit. the boxes use a micro-switch trigger that will not last nearly as long on a li-po. If you still decide to use a lithium battery, chose one with a lower discharge rating, like no more than 15c. A decent li-ion or li-fe pack might be a good option.
@@cool5tuff you can run 45c 11.1 on the stock micro switch fine a good amount of time.....this is because you are not turning the system on and off like on semi auto guns alot. If you do use that small of a discharge, you can damage the battery from over drawing the safe amount of amps it can supply.
Bullgear hop unit is highly recommended to replace stock one. I have one myself in my A&K Mk46 and it's noticeably better. No idea on gears though. :) Will be sending mine to Negative once/when it breaks for some cunty love. hahaha...

I'm surprised you mentioned aoe being fucked on mainly Lmg weapons with LMG gearboxes. The issue you mentioned, with the gear contacting at an angle like that, has been present in every single AEG I've worked on including M4s, MP5s, AKs, scorpion Evo, etc. All from various manufacturers. I find it odd you haven't found this issue.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech hmmm that's odd then. I haven't done hundreds yet, but I can say I've done at least 20-30 aegs from many different companies. Surprisingly G&P had it near perfect. They all had the problem you had there. I will agree some were better than others but not optimal. For a regular setup I'd imagine it's totally fine, but most of my builds are high stress setups. I still love your content it's fucking hilarious seeing what other "techs" do to guns and then they come to you. Like crazy gluing buckings to barrels. Who the fuck came up with that idea. And fuck Teflon. Can be used occasionally around the c clip area if a c clip is very loose but other than that... Useless

@@cool5tuff Well I only have 25c Lipo's laying around now, so I guess that means I have to invest in a good Nimh battery. Thanks for the help.
If you have any soldering skills you can wire a mosfet for cheaper than a new battery and use your lipos
