This is gonna seem random but i remember Vesper once talking about a very sad manga called 'goodnight pun-pun' and he said he would love axel to read it, i immediately thought 'what is this manga and why, also why axel, in particular?', read a lot of it and i can kinda tell why now. It seems theres some 'learnt lessons' that are harshly learnt in the book about everyday life (the good and the very bad) and social norms that you could learn from and apply, i think i understand why gramps wants him to read it, it makes you look at life in a more serious way, albeit depressing at times, and also, how you effect others around you in ways some people may have no idea about (another reason for axel to read it, i think).
The reason you feel “pain” is because the butthole contains the same cells as the tongue. Your tongue doesn’t taste spice, rather it is stimulated by the chemical properties that lead to the “spicy” reaction. And the butthole will do the same, when the spice in the poop pass through it.

Haha, the ring of fire is real and it has little to do with the health of your digestive system (Though Selen is right in that you can build a tolerance ). If enough capsaicin is in food, it WILL burn even to the touch (see certain self defense sprays or even painful lips). As it goes through the digestive system it can trigger it to release more liquid in reaction to the sensed heat (thus the runs and other fun for some people). And finally if enough capsaicin makes it out the end, it will burn just as much as the lips.
