Excellent breakdown for my favorite hero. Explaining when and why you go "off build" was very insightful, especially for those of us that don't get a lot of time playing the game ourselves to figure this stuff out on our own.

I'm a viscous main and I'll mention something you talked about so people know. Viscous cube removes debuffs (like malice, bebop bomb, warden's jail,etc) only on activation. So if the person is in the cube, new debuffs can be added to them while they're in it. Edit: soul rebirth and rejuvenator are both shown on the ui
i don’t know if lady geist is just underrated or not that good, but i barely see anyone picking her. i feel like she’s kind of limiting because of how committal she is without having any utility. she’s fun though
Lady Geist has a lot of utility. Her base kit maxed out 1 full clears a wave. Other heroes need tesla bullets/ricochet to match her wave clear. Probably the best at procing healbane, mystic slow, and mystic reverb with the 1 and 3. Base defense is really good. Geist if played well is very helpful to your team.
No escape on a hero that self damages really hurts. Damage is good, late game potential is good but she is definitely a vulnerable hero. Just look how easy it was for paradox to get a successful gank on her

Honestly some really solid Lady Geist gameplay, and a great build. Lately I've been getting Mystic Reverb, and Mystic Slow late game to really make the enemy team miserable.
I was having a great time using the build you released on september 8th. I don't know if it's just me but in the past few days I'm having a hard time, the lack of CC, the fact that people learned how to deal with her ult, etc. Every popular match I watch in-game I see Lady Geist being way less impactful than it was a few weeks ago. She gets focused and she is dead. I'm honestly thinking about building her in a different way, focusing on slow and firerate debuffs (so you don't get melted in 5 seconds in teamfights)
Just a small thing, u can use ur 2 on any objective to take them as quickly as possible. Not rlly the best play if enemies are close around but if ur solo pushing and wanna take a shrine or whatever as quickly as possible u can use the 2 on it to drastically increase ur dmg
Really liking these videos, Eskie, especially the ones on Geist! I really like her farming and late game potential. Correct me if im wrong, but I feel like you play fights a little bit too safe. Sure, it is nice to stack Malice and then get those big bombs off. But at the same time you have an ultimate that can save you in a pinch, so wouldn't it be alright to take some of the damage for your team and help out? Just an idea I had, ggs!
the issue is if you’re playing up to take damage the enemy team obviously knows your plan and can just play around your ult, for example they can buy silence items and you become useless which is bad especially if you’re fed that game like he was. imo it’s more consistent to sit back a bit and stack malice and bombs which can give your team openings bc of the big poke and slow and then go in if you see an opportunity, with the ult being for 1v1s or if you get caught
I think she's better when played like that. Her ultimate isn't good outside of 1v1s and it's much better to play from a safe range, most other heroes that play like this like Vindicta or Talon, can be easily killed by an enemy assassin, but Geist is a hero you don't just fight 1v1. In close range with a lot of enemies around I think she's too easy to play around.
idk if pushing wave into their turret is the optimal buy position, especially if you're good at denying that's forgoing up to a 300+ soul delta for missing your own creeps (and some harass while they try to fight the wave) probly best to buy when the wave is just outside your own turret/shop (or whenever you have 500 souls in the bank for a power spike)
yeah i noticed this too, i go without buying for a long time, often only when their tower goes down or.. never unless the lane is going poorly and its pushed back to my tower
I guess my question would be when do you buy then if you're winning the lane hard and not getting pushed into your guardian? I agree if you get pushed back it's definitely best to buy under your guardian. I think if you're hard winning the lane you definitely want to buy and not let them get the item advantage over you. I think the best time in that scenario is when you've farmed the wave, and your minions are pushed into their turret

All you have to do if just have perfect aim and you win by default cuz they run off to buy and you hit them with 1 while they're buying to keep pressure, or they try to trade you just press 2, and they lose the trade, or they try to run at low health and you pop them with a long range 3.
Eskie, you can use the street names at mid lane to know where you are at. Always Yellow to green to blue to purple or opposite. It doesn’t show in replays on the map 🤷♂️
in my opinion you dont need the spirit lifesteal item if you have soul shredder and enduring spirit. thats 30% at that point. leech is valuable later however
Stagger death timers means that you die when other teammates are already dead. Let's say your teammate is sitting on a 20 second death timer. You die and now you're sitting on a 50 second death timer. That's staggering death timers because there's a 30 second separation when the full team will be alive. I like Spiritual Overflow because I believe it's more DPS overall than Frenzy
Any tips on how to survive her early game when solo laning? Especially since its so hard to confirm cs without it getting denied. I also heard her early game is actually super strong, so am I just bad? I do really well early in duo lane tho.
I'd buy items like Restorative Shot and Extra Regen first if you are struggling to stay healthy. I'd also suggest staying near your minion wave and focusing only on last hitting even meleeing if possible to prevent the deny. Minions do a lot of damage early on and if you fight the enemy inside your minion wave you'll have a large advantage

I feel once you know her tricks, she is quite bad late and very late game. As long as someone prevents her ult, she is dead in a second. Lash is the same, incredible early/mid hero until damage drops massively into late/very late game.
I feel I carried a game from behind lategame yesterday, spamming malice and bomb in choke points was insane dmg. Bomb killing wave in 1 sec and then they had to run through the dot and getting maliced :P

I think because she is very vulnerable and cannot get that much value in early game. So I believe people try and think she is weak
People just see that she needs to sacrifice her life to cast spells, they just don't want that disadvantage

Btw, even when colors of ziplines/minimap are teamlocked, you can still see lane colors on the ground.

Going for the life drain maxed out as your second skill would have been a good idea in this game. The silence completely counters viscous and lash
Good points. I do think maxing Life Drain can be worthwhile if you're getting dived a lot

I think working Suppressor and Mystic Slow in the build is very viable. She just got buffed again too :)

When you have the Rejuvenator buff from mid boss, your lane troopers are buffed and will naturally push towards the enemy base

Most played champ for me. Best character. Build her as a tank first and she breaks the game in survivabillity.

Why did you not go on top of the buildings to rotate and gank, is geist just better at jungleing that you dont need to do that?
Geist doesn't have a lot of mobility which makes it harder to get vertical, but I definitely don't climb often enough yet when ropes are available

I think with the Geist buffs she's more relevant late game now. The spirit scaling on her bomb is good now
