I actually did/do on purpose sometimes. Please note that ATTACK and DEFENSE are dropped as stats. Meru's Rainbow Breath Alberts Rose Storm Shana's Moon Light and Gates of Heaven and Dragon (healing effect) Are ALL not affected by the stats. If you always transform before you reach 200 SP you deform immieadiatly after you use your skill. Negating the defense debuff.
Always start this fight with 1 SP bar unless you won't transform. Albert, Meru and Miranda should always be at 1 bar; their defense and healing magic is recommended for this fight.
Well that was 1 way of doing it but I did it wit just Dart but he had somethin to protect him because to be as strong as this dragon is... he took them out with no problem
The so called “Divine Dragon”, considered to be hardest boss in the game next to Lenus and the Grand Jewel, turns out to be no challenge at all. I just kept on spamming my magic attacks to disable the Dragon Ball part and my team (Dart, Rose and Albert) kept on hacking and slashing at the beast until he was dead. I did made the mistake of having Albert use his Jade Dragoon form to cast a barrier spell, but I was all out of mana and he got his ass kicked a lot.
I just realized years later why fighting the his ghost was harder.. the Dragon Block Staff is destroyed in this fight, so you wont have it when you fight his spirit. It also says a lot about the Divine Dragon that it wouldn't recognize Lloyd as its master because he wasn't the one who defeated it. Swooping in and dealing the killing blow didn't cut it.
Also, this fight has the chance of dropping you the rare Dragon Shield, which can be bought in Lohan for 5,000 Gold. You get it by killing the Divine Dragon Ball. It’s best to kill it after it fires its divine dragon shot.
If there is any remake or remastered for this, i hope there will be special battle where i can fight this boss in its full strength. Imaginr how epic that battle will be
The Divine Dragon alive here has about 5,000 HP, not including the ball and cannon. The Divine Dragon spirit in Mayfil has about 16,000 HP. So, yeah, its HP and stats are significantly higher. Without good magic defense, the divine dragon spirit will destroy your party.

One thing I disliked about this game was, despite how much you trained, the attacks never get stronger and these bosses take forever to defeated. It took me a year to figure out how to defeated the Divine Dragon with Dart, Rose and Meru...and because I was playing other games, too. lol
(year later response) You are either trolling or truly terrible at gaming. How on earth does it take a year to figure out how to hit the X button when it is highlighting "attack" and then hit the X button again when the two blue squares line up? I personally think the bosses die too fast once you hit your additions reliably and gear your group out to compliment each other well. Sharanda can hit the Divine Dragon for 1800+ at this point in the game and he only has 5k total (2k other targets). So, yeah.
this game is all about additions, if you level up them to lvl5 you can kick every boss' ass (in the process you can get enough money and buy some legend armor to build quite a party)
So i watched some earlier videos and thought i may have judged this game too harshly by saying it was devoid of challenge and was an jrpg for babies. So i watch this video and i see i was totally right in that judgement. What a total joke this game is I have never played and will never play this game. Fucking boss that just giggles around like a giant useless punching bag. People that love up on this game are delusional babies.

You fight his spirit in Mayfield which isn't weakend and can't destroy his cannons so you actually fight his full power

Easy way to kill it is spam a magic spark net. I used 8 spark net to kill it.

Its true that it was super easy but still was a great game. Its a game with 4 cds so lots of events happen while keeping things interesting.
