  • I hate what this battle entails and the ending, however I think this is such an awesome last stand by Svarog. There are so many elites, however this is compensated by the fact that the molten iron deals heavy damage to enemy forces and if they don't wanna get damaged well it's a one at a time slug fest for them. Use this to your advantage. I have a second healer on hand, Cordelia can above and beyond Erador in order to make him super tanky for Svarog's "Eruption", CCing everyone then shouldn't be a problem, the healers tend to not be capable of pathfinding over the iron so eventually they damage themselves enough to cause them to think they're in danger, which means they'll run away to heal.
Roland, Anna, and Flannagan were more than enough to handle the flank, with Geela healing those that are injured, Hughette simply just blinds and immobilizes. Twofold turn by Benedict is really good on Decimal since he can stand still on one of the two turns to gain TP back for the next turn, or to use it immediately after. Overall, this is a fun battle, I enjoyed this.

I hadn't actually seen this map before today, because the downer-feel of the faction routes definitely leave a sad taste in your mouth. Still, the floor is lava! It's a cool map, and kinda sad you don't like have a challenge map at the encampment using it.

I agree that this battle is pretty feel-bad for what it represents, but it’s part of the reason I actually like Roland’s route. You’re not fighting for a just cause but it’s the ultimate utilitarian decision and is emblematic of the game’s tough decisions.
Most of all the battles on Roland’s route are very unique really feel like Aesfrost is throwing everything they have at you.

Yeah, they truly are doing a last stand. TBF none of the endings are a just cause, I just, as someone who has seen religious trauma in the people I love, feel a bit iffy on this particular route, but Benedict's uber capitalist society might honestly be really terrible too. Not to mention Frederica's ending literally plunging all 3 nations into a civil war that was told to last for... well... a long time.
Like imagine you're a regular person in house wolffort, and your lord just... leaves you, you aren't brought along, your land is invaded by Hyzante, Glenbrook which was once a nation that just somewhat reclaimed itself, is now BACK into disarray now that the king is just gone... You still are hurting due to salt shortages perhaps even more now due to the wars... Except now you have just Benedict, your house's military might is all but gone, and now you're just sitting in the middle of 3 nearly dead nations all looking at you.
I cannot imagine being almost betrayed like that by someone who is your leader and supposed to protect you.

@@Leah-Heala Plus the Wolffort people uproot completely from their home and all move to crown city, then are at the center of yet another war and only after several years they get to go back to their home while the war is still ongoing. It sucks because Frederica’s route feels the most human on the surface but you’re forsaking the rest of Norzelia.
Benedict’s route sucks too because even though Hyzante has been crushed and Aesfrost was brought to heel, Norzelia still has the scars of Hyzante and Aesfrost’s warped ideologies. Plus another war is likely to break out with Roland and Idore joining forces.
I really like that the non-golden endings clearly show their flaws but I also like that the golden route exists.

@@medmax5941 Yeah I feel that a game as constantly bleak and painful as Triangle Strategy has a sort of happy ending. It feels nice especially if you go through all the endings first.
