Lows I think their tied. I prefer Mariah’s belting for the mids till F5. I think F#5 is tied and G5 goes to Lisa. Lisa takes most of the head voice since hers is actually full & connected. F#6 and G6 are tied because super head voice vs Whistle becomes subjective for those upper 6th octave notes for me.

growing up I use think that Whitney and Mariah was the best thing in the industry then followed by Celine until I discovered Lisa Fischer in 2015 . in my humble opinions I will put Lisa Fischer at#1 and tie Whitney and Mariah at #2 and tie Celine and Toni at #3 And that is just my ranking although keyke white is a great singer but her style is to common .

Lisa doesn't whistle I wrote HV and whistle coz the notes Lisa does in super head voice Mariah whistles usually she has hit short superhead voice notes before though
Lisa Fischer won that easily. Plus, her whistle register (especially during her prime) was stronger, and she could hold those rich notes for a while. She didn't just hit the notes because she could. She would build it up, and when she got there, you'd be shocked every time at how perfect her pitch was and how she moved through the notes. She's still amazing!

I like Lisa Fischer and Mariah Carey I never understood why Lisa Fischer never made it big like Mariah Carey. Her solo album was so great I couldn't stop listening to it. She can certainly sing no doubt about it and it is effortlessly.
It's obviously much harder for Black singers to get the support & recognition. Sad but true. Very few want to hear that explanation or reasoning but it's a fact. People, especially, people in control with the power to make or break talented singers, think most of America & the World prefer seeing white or lite-skinned singers over Black singers instead of letting the people decide for themselves.
When you're comparing two exceptionally skilled, artistic and talented vocalists in the end it just boils down to personal preference. It's a tie for me but longevity belongs to Lisa.. ❤❤❤

I understand this was probably intended to be a purely technical vocal comparison, but in the end you cannot separate the voice from the singer. Perhaps Mariah in her prime had a few superior notes, but Lisa, even at 58, is a far better singer. All you have to do is watch their faces and body languages to understand who's really feeling it CONSISTENTLY, and Lisa kills it every damn time. It's easy to tell how much Lisa loves what she does. She clearly enjoys taking her time, gliding, cooing, moaning, and whispering her way into the verses before she finally unleashes her clarion wails; then she reels it all in again, opting for very light but laser-like mixed tones to convey subtle emotions, and, like a proper jazz/gospel-influenced vocalist, sometimes improvises her way out of the music. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same of Mariah. All the riffing, squeaking, cutesy singing, and diva antics don't do a thing for me. Neither does she have the most expressive face, while many of Lisa's expressions are almost as raw as a child's. Mariah isn't a singer I can root for with all my heart, at least not the way she is today. If I want a female pop vocalist of similarly tremendous ability from her era, there's always Whitney. Whitney connected. Lisa reaches out. Mariah? Meh. Even when vocal ability is the sole issue, Lisa is superior. Lisa, in her late 50s, is capable of dynamic changes while staying in the same register (even messa di voce/crescendo-diminuendo), not only on low notes but also on mids and highs, which is one of the hardest things to do with the voice. I've never seen Mariah convincingly accomplish such a feat. (Rachelle Ferrell is one of the few who can match Lisa in this regard.) And, of course, it is Lisa who has managed to preserve her voice.
I totally disagree....If you watch old videos of Mariah singing when she was younger I mean singing live she had the same enthusiasm as Lisa...But Life happens...It doesn't take away that Mariah has or had one of the most epic voices of our time. Lets not leave out Rochelle Farelle however you spell her name. Her vocal range and ability is right up there with Lisa and Mariah

Lisa's Mid belts were causing Earthquake because of that power. That D5 from Lisa is a explotion! That G5 vibeato and sustained is not on this land. That E5 from lisa did break the mid. And there lows were not in this world.
Lisa is the better live singer period mariah does certain songs good live and it seems like some of her live performances she is all over the place she is a much better studio artist where lisa can give you the full effect live and in studio

Lisa Fischer did 1 album and did backup for so many, sang on so many artists albums. To this day people loose their minds when they hear her. She delivers, she brings you there, you feel her. Lots of popular singers can sing but it's all technique...you don't feel anything.
I love them both, and won’t even try to say that one is better than the other (they are both in their own phenomenon lanes). But Lisa has this capability to sing deeply from her diaphragm, and her control and tone, is like something I’ve never heard before.

I think Lisa is the better singer, but Mariah the better musician. Lisa seems to have much more ease in accessing everything, in turn making her overdo it. Mariah makes better musical choices and holds back.

You degrade her as if she really can’t sing. If we’re being fair, Mariah has obviously had good moments. She’s even commented Lisa fisher by name in the past. For what Mariah is able to do, I think she still deserves some respect. Lisa has an edge on Mariah in certain aspects, but if you compare Mariah to today’s singers, she still edges them all out in all aspects. Lisa has had operatic training first hand, Mariah has only had informal tutoring from her mother at a very young age. From what she can do, consistently, is respectable in my opinion.

Lisa Fischer won that easily. Plus, her whistle register (especially during her prime) was stronger, and she could hold those rich notes for a while. She didn't just hit the notes because she could. She would build it up, and when she got there, you'd be shocked every time at how perfect her pitch was and how she moved through the notes. She's still amazing!

I like Lisa Fischer and Mariah Carey I never understood why Lisa Fischer never made it big like Mariah Carey. Her solo album was so great I couldn't stop listening to it. She can certainly sing no doubt about it and it is effortlessly.
It's obviously much harder for Black singers to get the support & recognition. Sad but true. Very few want to hear that explanation or reasoning but it's a fact. People, especially, people in control with the power to make or break talented singers, think most of America & the World prefer seeing white or lite-skinned singers over Black singers instead of letting the people decide for themselves.

Lisa takes it for me the power in her notes
I understand this was probably intended to be a purely technical vocal comparison, but in the end you cannot separate the voice from the singer. Perhaps Mariah in her prime had a few superior notes, but Lisa, even at 58, is a far better singer. All you have to do is watch their faces and body languages to understand who's really feeling it CONSISTENTLY, and Lisa kills it every damn time.
It's easy to tell how much Lisa loves what she does. She clearly enjoys taking her time, gliding, cooing, moaning, and whispering her way into the verses before she finally unleashes her clarion wails; then she reels it all in again, opting for very light but laser-like mixed tones to convey subtle emotions, and, like a proper jazz/gospel-influenced vocalist, sometimes improvises her way out of the music.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same of Mariah. All the riffing, squeaking, cutesy singing, and diva antics don't do a thing for me. Neither does she have the most expressive face, while many of Lisa's expressions are almost as raw as a child's.
Mariah isn't a singer I can root for with all my heart, at least not the way she is today. If I want a female pop vocalist of similarly tremendous ability from her era, there's always Whitney.
Whitney connected. Lisa reaches out. Mariah? Meh.
Even when vocal ability is the sole issue, Lisa is superior.
Lisa, in her late 50s, is capable of dynamic changes while staying in the same register (even messa di voce/crescendo-diminuendo), not only on low notes but also on mids and highs, which is one of the hardest things to do with the voice. I've never seen Mariah convincingly accomplish such a feat. (Rachelle Ferrell is one of the few who can match Lisa in this regard.) And, of course, it is Lisa who has managed to preserve her voice.
I totally disagree....If you watch old videos of Mariah singing when she was younger I mean singing live she had the same enthusiasm as Lisa...But Life happens...It doesn't take away that Mariah has or had one of the most epic voices of our time. Lets not leave out Rochelle Farelle however you spell her name. Her vocal range and ability is right up there with Lisa and Mariah

Lisa Fischer did 1 album and did backup for so many, sang on so many artists albums. To this day people loose their minds when they hear her. She delivers, she brings you there, you feel her. Lots of popular singers can sing but it's all technique...you don't feel anything.
I love them both, and won’t even try to say that one is better than the other (they are both in their own phenomenon lanes).
But Lisa has this capability to sing deeply from her diaphragm, and her control and tone, is like something I’ve never heard before.

I think Lisa is the better singer, but Mariah the better musician. Lisa seems to have much more ease in accessing everything, in turn making her overdo it. Mariah makes better musical choices and holds back.

Damn angry much? I do definitely agree she doesn’t replicate a lot of stuff live. I’m only making my comment because you only seem to want to attack Mariah further in these comments. You degrade her as if she really can’t sing. If we’re being fair, Mariah has obviously had good moments. She’s even commented Lisa fisher by name in the past. For what Mariah is able to do, I think she still deserves some respect. Lisa has an edge on Mariah in certain aspects, but if you compare Mariah to today’s singers, she still edges them all out in all aspects. Lisa has had operatic training first hand, Mariah has only had informal tutoring from her mother at a very young age. From what she can do, consistently, is respectable in my opinion.
