Thank you to Jared, the rest of TTG staff, volunteers, and everyone else that helped make Iowa such a great event. It was my first Tactical Games, and with being so new to firearms my main goal was to be safe first and then do my best while staying within my abilities. I was on a team and I shot the pistol portion of the 2-gun stage. I was nervous as hell shooting in front of Jared and the crowd at bay 1. I managed to get all the targets knocked down with only a couple misses and left enough time for my teammate to engage all the rifle targets. Had an amazing time and learned so much. Thanks again!

Props to Jared. I shot the 500 yard stage later Sunday afternoon and Jared was smoked from the sun. He was sticking it out but I recognized that look as I RO often at my club. If I could offer a suggestion it would be to not forget about the RO’s when TTG places the sun canopies. Had we placed one where he was spotting for the rifle it would have cut down a lot of the hours he had to spend in the direct sun. Iowa was amazing I’ve done it twice. I am actually trying to get the large white canopies they have for our range now. They are expensive!

Man!! And I thought you got a hotel cause you didn’t want to 🥄 with me. #roomies. Dad had a 40# ruck. Excellent nuggets of information on how to better RO my friend. It’s a fun position to be in but it’s also the most responsible. Seeing the wins from the competitors is one of the best feelings as an RO.
