I love how she didn’t let the interviewer manipulate her into claiming she was a victim of Hollywood like so many others have. She has integrity …that’s very rare in her field of work.
I feel she is being honest, I don't think she feels a victim at all. It's true that she was sometimes stereotyped, but she had a bunch of good roles too, and she has been really successful.
This is so inspiring. As a huge fan of Pedro Almodovar, she is exceptional in every one of his films, and I can't wait to see this new one. How ironic that both she and Javier Bardem were in his 1997's Live Flesh but never shared scenes together (one of his most underrated not-talked-about films) only to meet on Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which may be the most sensual film Allen ever made. Her Oscar was well-deserved but I'm glad she's back in her native Spain. She just gets better with age.
Well actually Penelope and Javier filmed togheter Jamón Jamón, and some secuences of the film (some very pasional) are an icon in spanish film industry.
She is smart, beautiful, talented, thoughtful, positive, diplomatic and appears to be comfortable in her own skin. Good for her and wishing her continued happiness and success!
I like how she remains the observer. Must be hard not to get caught up with ego when everyone tells you how great you are!! Or not. I get very spiritual vibes from listening to this beautiful soul.💙💙🙏🙏🌏🌏🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜🌹🌹🌹🌹
Parallel Mothers looks like a fascinating movie. It is hard to believe that she has been around for so long, and that she is a few years younger than me.
she's soooo right, the speed at which your life can change from the internet is crazy. it can take minutes for something you post to go viral and your entire life can change for the best or for the worst
My favorite museum in the world...Prado...njoy your beautiful city and thank you for sharing your beauty inner and outer, your talent and your amazing husband who allows us to see his humanity beneath whatever role he plays....thank you. We desperately need artists, intelligence, truth tellers and lovers of LIFE in these times. And yes, Romance!!!!!! You exemplify it all and how appreciated you are!
"Vanilla Sky" is an 2001 remake of "Open Your Eyes" a 1997 Spanish film. Both movies having Penélope Cruz playing the same character in both films. One has Tom Cruise in the male lead role "Vanilla Sky" and the other has Eduardo Noriega also playing the the same character in "Open Your Eyes". I watched both films back to back, it was a interesting experience and Cruz is great in both films.
Over the years, Cruz has gotten better and better, not only with age, but as an actress, and has rightfully become one of the best in the business. Great actress! Even though, 'Parallel Mothers' hasn't been released yet, but I'd love to see Penelope nominated for another Oscar this year. She made the best decision to continue to make films in Spain. Instead of being typed cast as the "Sexy Latina" here in the States, she's able to get better quality roles in Latin America. Only wish Salma Hayek would make the same move.
@@lindseycarribean5113 Mexican Cinema, in my opinion, is just as rich as it is in Spain. They're almost very similar. She could, and I wish she would. She would be given so much more opportunities than what she's getting here.
Why on earth would any European want to live and raise their kids in the USA? Of course she chooses to live and raise her children in her beloved Spain.
Madrid comes across as so "small time" in this clip. "Oh it looks as though she downgraded from Hollywood." As if Hollywood is such an important place to be. Madrid is 100 times more of a beautiful livable thriving city than Los Angeles can ever dream to be. I'm sure that in 100 years from now, LA will still be a shambles, with maybe 2 or 3 new metro lines, congested traffic, a handful of rich people, homeless galore, and a few quirky restaurants and cafe's here and there.
I really like Penelope Cruz, she is truly lovely. I think that Matthew Goode would have great onscreen chemistry with her. I hope that a script will be created to show their talents. 😊
Pues, soys una maravilla de mujer 💖 Ya con tus palabras me has dado Unas llaves doradas para sanar heridas desde mi infancia. Te adoro Simplemente AMO TU SER DE MUJER Ayer he visto L'immensitá 💖 Magico 💯💞🙏🏼Gracias Gracias Gracias 🙌🏼 Bendecidas seamos❣️
Penelope Cruz might be the most brilliant actress of our time. In Hollywood, she plays a playful, gentle and adorable foreigner. In Spain, she plays a fiery passionate strong willed woman. In real life, she’s a combination of both.
In addition to being incredibly beautiful she is equally as talented--a lucky combination. Her work with Almodovar is stunning but then he is incredibly gifted as well. The movies that she made in her native Spain are far superior to the Hollywood product with the exception of Vicky Cristina, but that really isn't a Hollywood movie.
Penelope doesn't allow the interviewer portray her as a victim of the Hollywood system. I like that. I am tired of hearing all the time those millionaire and award-winning celebrities victimizing themselves in this contemporary narcissistic onanism...
well it depends, because on this comment you would put Salma Hayek and eventhough she is a millonianre she had fight for her place, harder than Penelope because Penelope is still an European and white. So it{s different
Why is this show saying things like "she's a screen godess". Didn't she just say that she doesn't believe none of the great and none of the bad things said about her???
She is so cute God she is so cute. I used to like another Hispanic girl she was in training Day God she was good looking I don’t Remember her name also Cuban women are the best good God man Hispanic women are the best in the world sorry I’m Sicilian so I kind of likeHispanic they’ve always like me and I love them right back homes
So refreshing to see someone speaking so naturally and with such elegance. Truly beautiful in every aspect.
I love how she didn’t let the interviewer manipulate her into claiming she was a victim of Hollywood like so many others have. She has integrity …that’s very rare in her field of work.
Yes!
Yes, those were some truly bizarre and superficial questions that she asked her.
Integrity...and diplomacy. Wonderful human being full of compassion and wisdom, an old soul, for her young years.
I'm sure she suffered a lot of discrimination for being hispanic in the industry
I feel she is being honest, I don't think she feels a victim at all. It's true that she was sometimes stereotyped, but she had a bunch of good roles too, and she has been really successful.
Both Cruz and Bardem are two of my favorites! Talent, class, beauty and intelligence!
I'm enchanted by how down to earth she is. Also the fact that she protects her mind. She's a strong one. 💪
She deserves the credit that she’s receiving now! A true ICON 👏🏾
Penelope and Almodóvar are right there among the greatest Director/Actor Partnerships, Love them ❤️
My respect for Penelope has increased. She is an amazing human being
Penélope... always so articulate and humble. ❤

The most underrated Almodovar film period. Ángela Molina at her best.
They were both in jamon jamon too
I loved her in Volver. An amazing and talented actress.

Perfect summary of this delightful woman!
She doesn’t believe you. We don’t believe you.

the 100% pure definition of: "CLASSY"!.. Very elegant!

cautionary tale to us all
She aged SO WELL. ITS UNBELIEVABLE

Altogether an amazing actress that we’re fortunate enough to witness & enjoy
Penelope's best movie is VOLVER.
Completely agree. I have seen it over 10 times.
Estaa bien rico papote 🤤🤤
Beautiful, balanced human, so good to see in a star.

The spanish cinema might be richer than the mexican one but indeed salma could try working in spain like her.

When she works with Pedro its gold
(Spain isn't Latin America..)
@@cockeyedoptimista your right its not
Graceful, talented and highly unapologetic!
"It's Cruz, NOT Cruise"
She is most inspiring, beautiful and humble

Love her acting
What a lovely person and great actress.
I really like Penelope Cruz, she is truly lovely. I think that Matthew Goode would have great onscreen chemistry with her. I hope that a script will be created to show their talents. 😊
Why wouldn’t the reporter, once learning the correct pronunciation of her last name, not continuously use it?
Yes Penelope....follow your path...think free... always... and you`ll always see the TRUTH!
Love her! Very unique
LINDA PAREJA PENELOPE Y JAVIER, ELLA COMO SIEMPRE BONITA, INTELIGENTE Y MUY RESERVADA EN SU VIDA FAMILIAR. ES LO MEJOR.

I’m glad to see that she owns a big poster of Law of Desire
She is incredible. Not just a brilliant actress (who should win for Parallel Mothers), but also a super charming, intelligent, sexy woman.
Love them Both ❤️🙏
With all due respect to the stunning Ms. Cruz, I will gladly take Holly Williams out for a walk in Barcelona any time.

Why do they always lead with the persons age? It is irrelevant from her talent.
But why she seems like she doesnt age at all. I mean she looks the same as when i was a kid
This interviewer is horrible 🙄 I’m sure there were much better questions to ask then these.
