true white has a shade of blue in it.
to slow the yellowing of my whites i wash them with my blues. Howver do not wash a newly bought blue with your whites as there will be too much blue dye leakage, not usually a problem in western countries that require prewashing before retailing fabrics.
I don't recommend vinegar in any machine with rubber seals.
Vinegar is actually used in the rubber manufacturing process as a coagulating agent to turn the latex sap into a transportable or modable product as you can imagine knowing that, continued exposure to vinegar hastens the degration of the rubber that would otherwise last 20+ years. A leaky washing machine is a cascading host of problems.

I ran the washer at 40℃ as that was the temperature the t-shirt tag recommended. Oxygen-based bleach is a little more effective at high temperatures, so I went as high as the garment allowed.
Then I did an extra rinse just to make sure that all the cleaning products were rinsed out since we used so much during the process of making the shirt white again

You could try to cut down on the time you soak the garments in oxygen-based bleach if you're afraid they will be ruined, but from my experience 6 hours is totally fine. I think 6 hours is what the instructions on the packaging said as well if I remember correctly.

Update: just put them to soak for overnight, i HOPE SO HARD THIS WORKS.
Im going to try this this weekend, i have some old white tour tshirts that have been ruined by yellow staining spots due to bad storage and they need emergency cpr. Ty for saying you can try it multiple times, i think ill try it 3x if if doesnt work out im going to just cut out the graphics and make a quilt or something 🥴

@@Organizing-TV oh it absolutely did! A few 3/4 shirts I will have to do it again but a good 10 of them came out totally free of yellow stains! I will add though from experience now, word of advise to anyone who reads this, if you're doing graphic t-shirts and they have big red colored areas, put it in a seperate bucket 😅😅😅 I had a bit of color bleed but the wash with oxiclean took it out luckily. Overall great video, totally worked. Thank you!

Stripping isn't necessary. One or two packets of Rit White Wash does the trick.
