Wow! We just came back from Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon and Da Lat. Same issues there. Oil and trash in the water and terrible air pollution! Phu Quoc was on or list of last hopes for paradise in Vietnam until your honest video. Thanks for showing the truth as most TH-camrs DO NOT!
Yes we saw evidence of this in other parts of Vietnam as well. Thank you! We like to show an honest portrayal of everywhere we go, but having said that, there were nice parts of the island as well, as you can see in the video! We will do a full video on our Phu Quoc experience soon showing the good with the bad (though that was pretty bad!)
@TrekList Thanks for your response. We are thinking Nai Harn in Phuket or Kota Kinabalu on Boreno as the beaches, whitewater rafting & scuba were great there years ago when we visited. Also years ago in Costa Rica but had to pay for people to watch our Jeep and the buser in Burger King was carrying a club and gun. Hope that's changed but the volcano, zipline and beaches were great! Thanks and Happy Travels!
I've been in Nha Trang for 4 months; I swim in the main beach 2 days out of 3. I have only seen 2 pieces of plastic in the water the past 4 months (both of which I removed). The water is clean and clear in this area.
Finally I found the reality blog of Vietnam. I was there on March with so much expectation from other vlogs and travel reviews and especially my close Vietnam born living in Australia friend. She was so excited how beautifully changed Vietnam is but all I can see was garbage and dirty sewer water connect straight in the river.
Thank you so much to show the truth about vietnam, not only there but everywhere there is a street like in saigon, which stinks of hell, all South East asia has a big hygiene problem and also food hygiene (street food can take you to the emergency room)
I heard the trash came from the mekong delta but not sure true or not. It also floats as far as my country malaysia in the east coast because someone found a plastic with a label from Vietnam. Borneo too. So it can travel very far. So sad to see this. And the water is yellow.
Oh really? That's interesting! There needs to be less use of plastics and better waste disposal options in some countries to lessen the amount that ends up trashing the oceans and beaches like this!
The beaches we were staying on were pretty clean overall. I think the resorts do a good job of keeping them clean every day, but some less populated beaches suffer from pollution as well I think!
Omg, this is very sad that humans create this plastic mess and nobody takes charge in the clean up. Wake up people, don't litter, take your garbage and put it in the trash.
For those that are watching, this is the opposite of what it looks like when i went 2 weeks ago! Hate to say your experience wasnt the same because when i went it was so clean i didnt even let my cigarette or ice cream wrapper destroy its beauty, looks like you came after a tornado lol but sucks you enjoyed the opposite of what i enjoyed. The expectation vs reality review is an unfair judgement compared to what most people actually seen. Did you ask why the beach was like that? Seems not all the activities were there either so there might be a reason but it doesn't excuse them for the beach looking like this at all
It would be easier to fly from HCMC to phu quoc. Also go when it's nice and sunny so do your research, I went to vinwonder and out the blue it rained hard@@destinationdezz1588
We showcase what we see when we are there. This was our experience. If you search for that beach you will find that we are far from the only people that have experienced it like this. It comes from a systemic issue with lack of facilities to dispose of garbage that we found in other parts of Vietnam as well.

@@Totsujt How about the poor air quality though? We lived in Nha Trang years ago. Love the Marina Club and girls cooking fresh lobster on the beach.

Yes it was pretty shocking to see for sure!

That's somewhat of a relief to hear! I will be visiting in November and I'm still contemplating whether i should still visit from HCMC???

One day humans need to use swimming pools only
Rich companies there like sunworld, vin group should help pay for clean up.
What we throw in the rivers and seas mother earth will send back to the beach.
