Board requirement - Specific TG20 compliance sheets (with stated maximum safe heights) are available for independent scaffolding with a single-stage cantilever platform at the inner face, which may be up to 5 boards wide.

Design requirement - One such platform may be lifted to each elevation of the scaffold, at the main platform level. A bespoke design is required if multiple platforms are fitted at one elevation or if the platform is at the end or outer scaffold cases. The platform is supported by extended structural transoms at each frame connected to the inner and outer ledgers of the main scaffold and to an under-slung inner ledger at the platform edge.
This ledger should be connected to the inner ledger of the lift below with raking tubes fixed with right-angle couplers at each frame with supplementary couplers.

Knee bracing/angle bracing -brace and secured to prevent tipping and turning. Knee brace shall intersect the bearer at least 3 feet from at an angle of approximately 45 degrees.

End guard rails and toe boards must be provided at end frames.

Ties Specifications- Ties are required at the platform level at alternate standards, connected to the inner, middle and outer ledgers with right-angle couplers.
Ties, guys, braces, or outriggers shall be used to prevent the tipping of supported scaffolds in all circumstances where an eccentric load, such as a cantilevered work platform, is applied or is transmitted to the scaffold.

Spacing:The maximum horizontal distance between standards (vertical supports) in TG20-compliant scaffolding is typically 2.1 meters (7 feet).For cantilever scaffolds, the distance between standards may need to be reduced depending on the loading and design considerations.
